Our first round championship game was against a young Allen Gaels team who were short a good few of their regulars and were blooding some of last year’s successful minor team. The Gaels found the going difficult but Mohill will face a sterner challenge when they travel to play Ballinamore in the second round next Sat evening.
Div 1 Reserve Final
Ballinamore came out on top deservedly in this final. Mohill had a disastrous start conceding 2-3 to 0-2 in the first quarter and leaving a mountain too high to climb. They upped their game in the last 20 mns and got within 2 points of the visitors but Ballinamore stood firm and were worthy winners.
Congratulations to Mairead Beirne and her husband Tomás on the birth of little baby Sarah last week. Mairead is a stalwart player with Mohill Ladies and Sarah was welcomed by her little sisters Emma, Laura, Aoife and brother Thomas. We wish them all health and happiness.
We would like to thank Ciaran Baxter and Baxters Centra for their sponsorship of new jerseys for the Junior team. The Baxter family have been very generous to the club over the years and we are very appreciative of this.
The County ladies bowed out of the All Ireland series after a close encounter with Kildare. The whole county was very proud of their achievements and especially the efforts of our local girls, Charlene, Nicole, the two Michelles and Emma.
