Senior Challenge

Great to see the big boys out playing again. Last Sunday they played a useful challenge with Gowna some say it was a draw others say Mohill won by a point. Conor Quinn and Donal Duignan made their debut in adult football and did not look out of place. Nice to see Darren Mcloughlin making his presence felt at senior level after a brief period in Cavan. We look forward to lots more of the same and the commencement of the League in the next week or two.

Minor Challenges

The U17s played two great challenges last week. They had a close encounter with Killoe on Monday in Pairc Philib and won by a few points. Allen Gaels took the laurels on Wed in another close game. Both games were played without our county boys Conor Keegan and Eoghan Duignan.

Under 13 Final

Lady Luck did not shine for last years U13 team on Thursday evening when they contested t last years Shield final with St Mary’s. The young lads played their heart out but Carrick had a strong bench and a strong wind in the second half did not help. We congratulate Carrick who were worthy winners after extra time. Our defenders and goalie gave it their all, both midfielders Ryan Gordon and Darren Brennan unfortunately picked up injuries and the scores came from John Macklin 2-6, Frankie McManus 0-3, Kevin McNamara 1-0, Paul Bohan 0-1 and Niall McCrann 0-1.

Leitrim Ladies

Well done Leitrim ladies on reaching the National League Final. Louth will be the opposition in two weeks time. Well done to Charlene Tyrell who played the whole game and to Nicole Higgins who played the last quarter. Emma Quinn, Michelle Beirne and Michelle Hacket are on the panel.

Underage fixtures

Under 15s play St Brigids in Drumreilly this Monday 14 at 7pm.  Both U13 teams play Manorhamilton on Thursday 18 at 7pm and 8-15pm.
