Mohill

Rita Doyle RIP

We extend our deepest sympathy to John Joe Doyle and their two sons Alan and David on the death of their beloved wife and mother Rita following a tragic accident in their home. Rita was a lovely gentle lady and so well loved around the town. May she rest in peace.

Evelyn McGlynn RIP

The Club extend deepest sympathy to the McGlynn family on the death of Tommy’s sister Evelyn last week. Tommy and his late wife Frances were always involved with Mohill GAA and both their sons John and Edmund played at every grade. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí

New Arrival

We congratulate former player Chris Higgins and his wife Rebecca on the birth of their little baby PJ over in Adelaide. We congratulate Bridget and Padraic Bosehill on becoming grandparents. We know the baby is called after his grandfather but also after his great-grand uncle PJ McNabola

Virtual Scór

There was wall to wall entertainment online on St Patricks Day thanks to the hard work of  Scór Liatroma. Our own Róisín Kennedy was part of the production team and we saw amazing talent from all the clubs in Leitrim. A big thank you to Katherine Lynch who helped out here in Mohill and gave an introductory speech. Mohill had many participants young and old and hopefully it will give courage to all when were back to normal living next year.

Adult Scór

We had many adults taking part on Wed last. Included were Declan Moran showing his talent in recitation, Anella McGuinness singing the Dying Rebel. Alan Farry no stranger to entertainment sang a lovely Irish ballad. Regina O Carolan played some traditional music on her fiddle, our PRO lamented the infidelity of Teddy O Neill and last but not least our former Chairman Padraig McLoughlin advised everyone, “Don’t get Married”. The club and Róisín Kennedy thank them all.

Scór na Nóg

The young people were great on Paddy’s Day. Sophie Murphy danced a great reel, Eoghan OCarolan and his brother Cormac accompanied by their mother danced and sung beautifully. Katie Beck did not let her uncle Danny down with her great footwork and indeed it is interesting to note that her great- grand aunt Frances McGlynn took part in Scór for many years. Orla McWeeney did a brilliant recitation and her sister Saoirse sang two great ballads. Hannah Gaffey and Layla Murphy certainly can dance. Michael Macklin did a great job on a very topical poem written by our own Ronan (Chick) Kennedy. Molly and Ellie OCarolan were expert on the tin whistles! the great Turlough OCarolan would have been very proud of his namesakes. We look forward to participation from all the above next year when all will be on stage with a loud audience.
