Aughavas GAA Notes 01-02-2021

 

Lotto: Next draw on this Sunday the 7th February. Everyone get selling, Pota Oir €2,500.00. The players team are in action and just to remind them the players team is Colin Mc Kiernan, Niall Maguire, Conor Bohan, Trevor Farrelly, Sean Mc Kiernan, Tickets available at the park or ask any of the officers, the club would like to thank everyone who supported the previous draws. Keep up the support, so if you forgot to purchase for our last draw our next draw this Sunday the 7th February, click on Aughavas GAA. Our Chairman Noel has put in a new letter box in the door of meeting room so please drop in your envelopes before 12 0n Sunday or if your passing bye there will be envelopes available in a box beside the door. If anyone or business would like to sponsor one of our lucky dips please contact any club officer, or any of the players team. I know Conor Bohan is flying it in this department so keep it up.

AGM

Our AGM took place on Friday night last by Zoom a good crowd tuned in on the night

Noel Shortt, Marion Mc Cabe & Diane Charles gave great detailed accounts of the years activities with Diane producing a fine treasurers document which shows the club in a good position heading in to 2021 and we are all hoping that football will be up and running shortly. It takes a lot to run the club for the year and its vital we all put our shoulder to the wheel when it comes to fundraising,

It’s a Girl,

Great to be able to report again this week of another birth in the parish and the club would like to congratulate Lisa & Trevor Farrelly on the birth of a baby girl called Rebecca last week, Bound to be a future St Josephs player whether a nonsense defender like her dad or maybe a full forward like uncle Gavin. The club would like to wish them many years of happiness.

Deepest Sympathy

The club would like to extend its deepest sympathy to Damian, sons Ciaran & Stephen Gilheany & the Aughawillin GAA club on the sad passing of Annette Gilheaney wife of Damian last week, The Gilheany family are deeply involved in football in Aughawillin in the past & the present and we were always very welcome at their home when we were out selling our fundraising tickets, Annette will be sadly missed by all.
