Mohill

Senior Championship

Mohill will play Allen Gaels in the Senior County Championship quarter-final on Sat next in Pairc Seán at 3pm. We wish team and management the best of luck at these knockout stages.  It is very disappointing that due to the new Covid restrictions the game must be held behind closed doors but hopefully it will be streamed live for everyone at home and abroad.

Junior B Championship

The Junior team won their second game in the Championship on Sat last when they beat a young Fenagh side in Mohill. No spectators were allowed but everyone saw it live on telly with local man Declan Moran commentating and adding some wit and humour to our lives in these depressing days. We hope to hear a lot more from Declan in the weeks to come.

Junior C

The third team played Aughavas in the Junior C championship. Aughavas had a commanding lead of nine points in the first half but the Mohill lads played very well in the second half and brought the margin down to two. A late surge by the Aughavas saw them safely through in the end. Well done all those who togged out.

Under 17

Allen Gaels got the upper hand of this age group on Monday last in Drumshanbo. All the Mohill players gave it their all but the strength and power of The Drumshanbo men was obvious. This team has been in hard luck with injuries and the latest injury is to Domhnaill Duignan who sustained a fractured hand in the Monday game joining Conor Quinn, Shane Moran and James Foy on the casualty list. Get well soon to them all.

Under 13

These boys drew with Leitrim Gaels in Leitrim on Friday last.

Lotto Result

There was no winner of this week’s jackpot of €10,700. The numbers drawn were 4-17-18-28. Lucky Dip winners were €70 Emma Reynolds New York. €40 David Gordon Mohill. €20 Ger Walpole Mohill.  The Lotto is our only method of fundraising in these difficult times People are urged to join the Lotto. History Book

Mohill GAA Club history book 1889 to 2015 published in 2016 is now available free in Pauls and Baxters Centra. Although many copies were sold at the time, there were too many printed and we have good amount available to distribute. It makes great reading for young and old and history never goes out of date. Bingo in the Park

Due to the restricted numbers allowed in GAA stadiums during this pandemic every club in Leitrim and Ireland are stuck for funds.  To help eleviate their financial situation and to entertain the masses Mohill GAA is holding a drive-in Bingo in the Park on Monday August 31 at 7.30pm, gates will be open at 6.30pm. there will be more than €1500 in prizes on the night, also other great prizes, so keep the night of August 31 free in your diary. For people who may not know where Mohill GAA Park is, the Eircode is N41HP64.
