Mohill club notes

June 08, 2020

New Arrivals.

It’s great to have good news to relate during this pandemic and we have it on the double this week. We congratulate Gary Canning and his wife Edel on the birth of their little girl Aobha on Saturday last, a little sister for Darragh and Laoise. We congratulate the grandparents Patricia and Michael Canning and Phil and Pat Egan on the maternal side, two great GAA families. The club also send best wishes to Lorrainne and Damien Butler on the birth of their little girl Aimée, a baby sister for Luke and Faye. This little baby will be cherished by grandparents Mary and Dermot McDermott and Frank and Anna Butler. Health and happiness to all the families.

Irish Life Step Challenge

The Irish Life Step Challenge has got off to a very good start this week. Great to see so many taking part and getting trim and fit. It’s not too late to join and people can register by downloading the App Step Challenge. With over 15 teams in the club to rig out it would be great to win €2500 worth of O’Neill’s gear. Step it out for Mohill.

Park Situation

Going to print discussions are underway at county board about the safe reopening of the Park facilities and the road map. Training and matches will be going ahead in July with strict rules and regulations. Speaking to the U15 coach during the week he said his young charges are going hell for leather up hill and down dale and he would like to thank the parents for encouraging and videoing their labours. Check Facebook for details of re-opening.

Club History Book

The Club history book 1889 to 2015 published in 2016 is now available free in Pauls and Baxters Centra. Although many copies were sold at the time, there were too many printed and we have good amount available to distribute. It makes great reading for young and old and history never goes out of date. It is available from Maureen Lynch @ 0861765987.
