Portlaoise Gardaí have recovered four defibrillators which were stolen from GAA clubs in the area over the past week.

Two of the defibrillators belonged to Castlemitchell GFC near Athy and St Joseph’s from just over the county bounds in Laois. The recovery of the vital life-saving equipment has been warmly welcomed after the thefts had caused widespread anger and frustration.

“We are delighted to inform you that our defibrillator along with three others from neighbouring clubs have been recovered by Portlaoise Gardaí,” St Joseph’s GAA said in a Facebook post.
