Kerry ladies have suffered a massive blow ahead of this weekend's All-Ireland SFC semi-finals with the news that captain Siofra O'Shea has suffered a cruciate injury for the second time.
O'Shea had starred in the Kingdom’s quarter-final victory over Meath 10 days ago and was set to start in Saturday’s last four showdown against Mayo at Semple Stadium (5pm).
However, the 21-year-old will now miss the Thurles and the final should Kerry get their due to her second cruciate injury, having suffered the first on her other knee in a league outing against Wexford two years ago.
The Southern Gaels woman returned from that injury to play a part in last year’s All-Ireland final, kicking two points in the defeat to Meath.
TweetWe send our best wishes to @kerryladiesfoot captain Síofra O'Shea, who will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a serious knee injury
