Ballintubber manager Peter Ford is confident the side can manage without influential forward Cillian O'Connor.

O'Connor has been ruled out for the rest of the year through injury and Ballintubber had to do without his services as they squeezed past Crossmolina in the county semi final last weekend.

Now, they face defending champions Ballaghderreen in the county final and Ford stressed to the Western People that the players that are there can rise to the challenge.

"All our lads would be confident in their own ability and they'd see it as an opportunity to make their own impression," said Ford.

"It's tragic for Cillian to sustain that injury and be out for the rest of the year, but we didn't dwell on it. It was out of our control, we had to accept it, we weren't making any excuses, we were going with what we had and that was it." Tweet
