Kilkenny wing-back David Blanchfield has been ruled out of this afternoon’s All-Ireland SHC final ahead of throw-in.
After initial fears were that Blanchfield would miss the decider against Limerick through injury, Friday morning saw the Bennettsbridge clubman named in the Leinster champions’ starting 15.
However, it has been confirmed less than an hour out from throw-in at Croke Park that the defender has dropped out due to injury, with manager Derek Lyng naming Walter Walsh to start in his place.
Confirmation that Walter Walsh replaces the injured David Blanchfield in the Kilkenny 15, if not the half-back line
