Milltown GAA - Celebrating 125 Unbroken Years

November 20, 2013
Next Saturday (23rd), Milltown GAA club in Kildare will celebrate a remarkable anniversary - our little club has completed 125 unbroken years as members of the GAA, which makes it the oldest club in the county. The club, formed in 1888, will welcome An Uachtairán CLG Liam O Neill to unveil a special wall plaque and launch a Club History book on Saturday @ 3pm.

Lead by the Patrician School Band, An Úachtarán will be drawn by Horse and Cart (as they would have been 125 years ago) through the village and up to the clubhouse where the book launch and unveiling will take place. where the book Local children will provide a guard of honour along the avenue in.

The book launch is particularly exciting for the club, and we'd like to thank Ronan Byrne and his collaborators for all the hard work they put in pulling it together.

Saturday evening, our 125 Celebration Dinner Dance/Awards Night will be held in the Westgrove Hotel, Clane, with guest speaker Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh. Tickets are just €35 and can be sourced from any committee member.

We'd like to thank everyone who has, over the past 125 years, contributed in any way to the success of the club. There have been some great times, and some lean times over the years, but occasions like this make it all worthwhile…125 unbroken & unbowed years.
