Glenn Ryan and his Kildare players have made a classy gesture by donating to the Support4Drummo campaign.
Following his side's gut-wrenching defeat at the hands of Dublin in yesterday's Leinster SFC final at Croke Park, Ryan made his way to the opposition's dressing-room and pledged support to the fundraising campaign set up for Sean Drummond, a former Cuala and Dublin underage player, who suffered life-changing injuries in an accident in 2019.
Drummond's Cuala clubmate Des Cahill shared the lovely touch from Ryan and the Kildare squad on Twitter.
The Support4Drummo logo has temporarily replaced AIG on the front of Dublin’s jerseys to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the campaign.
A Support4Drummo GoFundMe page has so far raised almost €470,000 of a goal of €600,000.
Dublin manager, Dessie Farrell, contacted me to say that after yesterday’s Leinster Final#Kildare manager, Glen Ryan, visited the Dublin dressing room, and on behalf of the Kildare squad, made a contribution to the #Support4Drummo campaign. I’m blown away.https://t.co/YqhnybYCTp pic.twitter.com/Zlp7uQZmtr
