Former Tipperary hurler Brian Lawlor has been ratified as the new Kildare senior hurling manager.

Lawlor, who has managed Kildare side Ardclough the past two seasons, replaces Wexford native Willie Sunderland at the helm.

The Kildare U21 and minor football management teams for 2014 were also confirmed at last night's county board meeting.

Tom Cribbin was appointed U21 manager. The former Offaly boss served as a selector under Kieran McGeeney. Syl Merrins, Sos Dowling and Trevor O'Sullivan form his backroom team.

Brendan Hackett takes over from Bryan Murphy as minor manager. Hackett previously managed the Westmeath footballers and was in charge of the Lilywhites U16's this season. Brian Lacey, Aidan Minnock and Tadhg Fennin will act as his selectors.
