Clane GAA Notes

April 05, 2013
Congratulations to Barry Egan, Conor Murphy, Tom Cribbin (selector), Charlie McCreevy (mentor) and the Kildare u21 footballers who claimed the Leinster u21 football championship on Wednesday beating Longford by 3 points in the final. We wish them all the best in the All-Ireland series in the semis against winners of Galway & Roscommon on 20th April.

Best of luck to the Scoil Mhuire Senior Hurlers who play Dublin side Scoil Catriona in the Leinster Final on Saturday 13th April. A time and venue has yet to be confirmed with Parnell Park being mentioned as the possible venue. The team has several Clane stars on the team.
After the successful underage disco, another date has now been announced for the next disco. The disco will take place on Friday 3rd April and tickets will go on sale in the next week.

The Senior footballers continued their good form in the league beating Maynooth on Sunday last by 6 points. They now play Allenwood away on Wednesday 10th April at 7pm. The Senior B footballers commenced with a 4 point win over Kilcock on Tuesday last & their 2nd game sees them play neighbours Sallins in Clane on Monday 8th at 7pm. The Minor Footballers have topped their league and are now waiting to find out who they play in the semi's.

The U16 football leagues are near completion. The 1st team have qualified for the semi's beating Naas & Athy last week whilst the 2nd team are also through. Both teams should have a home semi-final in 2 weeks time. The Feile football team lots out to Celbridge in the quarter finals of the Feile shield and are now training for the league which starts in May.

The Senior Hurlers commence their league campaign on Tuesday 9th April with a home game v Eire Og at 7pm. The Minor Hurlers commenced their league campaign on Bank Holiday Monday last with a loss to Celbridge by 3 points. They now play Naas on 13th April with a time to be confirmed. The Feile hurlers play Broadford on next Monday 8th having won 1 and lost 1. A win in this game should put them in the shake up for the semis. The U16 hurlers are competing in div2 of the league and their game v Naas was cancelled. The lads now play Naas on Sunday 14th at 10.30am.

Hard luck to the u14 camogs who went down to Naas in the 1st round of league on Wednesday last. Well done to both our Senior Ladies Footballers and Camogie teams who commenced their league campaigns with impressive wins over Kilcullen & Leixlip.
