Kingdom suffer Bohan blow

Kerry's Daniel Bohane
Kerry defender Daniel Bohan has been ruled out for the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles tendon during a practice match in Tralee yesterday.

The Austin Stacks clubman deputised for the injured Marc O Se at full back in the Kingdom's Munster SFC first round win over Tipperary, but despite turning in a man of the match performance, was dropped for the semi-final defeat to Cork and failed to feature from the bench.

Bohan will miss next Sunday's All-Ireland qualifier second round clash with Westmeath in Mullingar, but Kerry manager Jack O'Connor will be able to call on fit-again All Star midfielder Bryan Sheehan, who was a massive loss against Cork.

Legion's James O'Donoghue is also pushing for a starting place and could replace Kieran O'Leary in attack.
