'Ogie' leaves O'Rahilly's post
December 18, 2009
Kerry legend Denis 'Ogie' Moran has stepped down as manager of Kerin's O'Rahilly's.
Along with coach Mark Fitzgerald, Moran led the Strand Road outfit to this year's Munster club football final which they lost in controversial circumstances to Kilmurry-Ibrickane of Clare. As county champions South Kerry were ineligible to play in the Munster club competition, O'Rahilly's qualified to represent the Kingdom on the back of their county club championship victory over Ardfert.
Moran's son David returned from a trial with Aussie Rules club St Kilda to play in the Munster final, but fellow county star Tommy Walsh was unavailable after signing a two-year deal with the Melbourne club.
