Funeral details and books of condolence for Liam Kearns

Funeral arrangements for Liam Kearns have been announced.

The former Offaly football manager, who died suddenly on Sunday, will be laid to rest at St Nessan’s Cemetery in Mungret, Co Limerick on Thursday following Funeral Mass at St Senan’s Church, Clonlara, Co Clare, at 11am. He will repose at Griffin’s Funeral Home in Limerick from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday.

The Funeral Mass will be live streamed for those who cannot attend. The Offaly footballers will form a guard of honour at the Funeral.

The retired Garda is survived by his wife Angela, daughters Rachel and Laura as well as his parents Eileen and Ollie, sisters Maria and Anne and brothers Joe and David, his grand-daughters Róisín and Clíona, and sisters and brothers-in-law as well as daughter-in-law Una and son-in-law John and extended family and friends.

Offaly County Council has also opened books of condolence for the late Mr Kearns.

The books will be available to sign in Aras an Chontae, Tullamore, Birr Municipal District Offices and Edenderry Municipal District Offices, while an online version is also available. 

Meanwhile, tonight's Offaly county board meeting and 2023 championship draws have been postponed as a mark of respect and will now take place next Monday instead.
