Galway will sport unfamiliar blue and gold colours in their Allianz Hurling League Division 1B clash with Limerick in Salthill tomorrow.

To mark the 100th anniversary of their historic 1923 All-Ireland SHC success, the Tribesmen will wear a commemorative jersey. The blue and gold jersey was launched last year, but the 1923 All-Ireland final wasn’t played until September 1924 due to the civil war. Galway continued to wear blue and gold up until the 1930s when they switched to their famous maroon and white colours.

The hurling game will form the first part of an attractive Pearse Stadium double-header which also features the Allianz Football League Division 1 meeting of Galway and All-Ireland champions Dublin.
