Replying To TheWagonWheel-N91Y529: "Should Kinnegad really be in the tier 2 of the under20 championship????" Esker were poor last night , in fairness Esker probably should be in Div 3. Killucan I think beat Esker by an even greater margin. Killucan beat Lilliput in the semi final and Lilliput had beaten Kinnegad but Killucan and Kinnegad would still struggle in Div 1. Where does this leave Garrycastle who were beaten Esker and had to give a walkover , thats worrying for them but they have lost there best players to rugby. St Josephs won a u20 Div 3 title in 2024 on there own and did they compete on there own in the grade last year?

Replying To Temple56: "Well done to Ronan Wallace! Hard luck to the other three lads as well. It's a massive achievement just to be nominated for an All Star. That said, I did think Wallace deserved it if only one was going to be selected.
Looking in to next season as mentioned its the most exciting year we have had in a long time to long forward too. I know we are a still division 3 team and are not going to be in the All Ireland unless we reach Leinster final but I beleive we have top 8 panel in the country.
55 players named here. Some players might not make themselves available but in my opinion this is the best 55 players in the county by position. Try picking a 26 man panel if everyone was fit would be very hard for McHugh! Have I missed anyone? I would like to hear everyones opinion.
1. Trevor Martin/Adam Buckley/Joe Hyland/Jack Connaughton/James Micthell 2. Danny Scahill/Adam Treanor/Adam Glynn/Sean Dillon 3. Charile Drumm/Sam Smyth/Ty Masterson 4. Conor Dillon/Boidu Sayeh/Eoghan Hogan 5. Tadhg Baker/Joe Moran/Taylor Slevin/Michael Moloney 6. Shane Allen/Jack Geoghegan/Ciaran Nolan 7. Matty Whittkar/Brian Guerin/Eoin Mulvihill 8. Ray Connnellen/Brian Cooney/Eoghan McCabe/Lorcan Mullen 9. Shane Ormbsy/Johnny Lynam/Harry Niall/Criostoir Ormsby 10. Sam McCartan/Kealan Connell/Jason Nugent 11. Ronan Wallace/Danny McCartan/Ian Martin/Tom Molloy 12. Kevin O Sullivan/Jack Duncan/Sean Leech 13. Luke Lougliin/John Heslin/Robbie Forde/Will Scahill 14. Ronan O Toole/Senan Baker/Niall Micthell/Alex Gardiner 15. Brandon Kelly/Shane Cororcan/Stephen Smith/Devin Hill" You are hardly from Garrycastle Temple56?

Replying To BigSur: "Talk of Ronan O'Toole returning home at the end of the year on a permanent basis so a big boost to club and county. Danny McCartan surely in the mix too. Will Scahill's load will be managed between school and U20's. No hurry on him playing senior football. I hope Niall Mitchell gives the football a go again. Just gives something different. Lynam and Loughlin will be nursed back gradually I'd say after their return from serious injury. I think the Iarmhi Abu podcast are doing a team of the year shortly so that will be interesting and might throw up a new name or 2." O'Toole great addition. Danny McCartan, not sure how you think he would be in the mix.
Also Whitaker robbed of an all star. Not to begrudge Wallace, but Whittaker is one of the best wing backs in Ireland.
He may never get that chance again.Considering Westmeath would almost certainly have to win Leinster for him to ever win an all star.
B kelly was close, but getting into that inside forward line was Always going to be difficult. Although without his scoring,They wouldn't have won Leinster. Although there's many lads who performed brilliantly.
McCartan was never going to get one.
A lot of downs supporters blowing about Mitchell. Let me remind you all, They won Leinster without him.
Predicting they will win D3 next year.

St Josephs didn't compete on their own in Div 3 in 2025. They had the numbers in 24 but not since. Bulk of them on their Junior Championship winning team now.

Wallace fully deserving, both he and Whittaker had outstanding years but Wallace's leadership stood out at vital stages, his two pointer in extra time vs Cavan was possibly the most vital score of the year, he also was man of the match in the O'Byrne Cup final, Whittaker was brilliant also but injury robbed him of vital minutes in the latter stages.

Division 3 winners will indeed get the last seat on the bus. Unless Westmeath get to another Leinster final in 2027.

Close game in the Park, a lot of people have overrated the Downs across the country. Not saying they're bad but they're not at the same level they were at when they made the Leinster final a few years back.
I see there was a junior b game abandoned in Shandonagh last night, anyone know the reason why? Hope no body was badly injured, that pitch wasn't in great condition the last time I was down there.

Have to agree , if playing Tullamore today it would have been the same result as last year. Clonguish were limited and deserve credit for their efforts but on this forum there were alot of lads that were going to be playing National League next year from the Downs , might not be so many after today . Still great to get the first win.

In my opinion the better team lost in cusack Park. Clonguish gave it everything. The downs looked as though they only had to turn up . Young Mike maloney tom tuite and the introduction of Kevin o sullivan squeezed the downs over the line . Another home game in the next round

Agree re certain players not impressing McHugh. Some option taking by key players almost costly.

They kicked the majority of their kickouts to the Downs and had a several shorts and wrong options , the downs kept them in the game and could have been caught . It was heart more than anything that kept them in the game

They are playing for their club in a leinster championship. Its dermot power and barry conroy they have to impress and clonguish were far from limited
