Replying To Spinx:  "As expected, Clonguish fielded a shadow squad tonight.
From what I was told, they had 7 of their minor players starting tonight, 5 of which are underage for minor again next year.
They will probably do the same again next week.
If they lose that, they are more than likely gone."
Is it not 3 teams qualifying? So they could possibly lose 2 and still qualify for semi final.

This forum seems to revolve around the affairs of Clonguish as many of the contributors are from Clonguish.

On a topic of interest for the majority of us what is the latest on the County management position. Players will be returning to pre season shortly. I can only assume that it will be a Longford man as any potential outside candidate will not get a chance now to look at new blood for upcoming season which is an important one playing in D3

Clonguish don't play the Downs until the 1st of November . I'm sure a lot of those young lads could've played last night. Unfortunate predicament for how young there team is but hardly the county boards fault. They could've played if they like - I imagine the senior management has told them not to but that is a club problem. Everything can't be the county boards fault

It's a outside manager who has previously managed club in Longford.

A lot of them did play, but only for a half.
Some played first half, others played second half and Carey got 10-15 minutes.
There was 4 or 5 missing altogether.

Posting here for the first time in a week......been a long few days celebrating last week. What a performance by the team to get over the line. A great few days were had!
Onto the game last night. Senior management told the players they could play. A few of our lads did not play, as they were carrying a few knocks, so they weren't risked. It was the under 21 management decision to ease our senior lads in, as the celebrations went on until Thursday!!
On the case of the game been moved, it was agreed to move it to Sunday but then they changed their minds. Bad form on their part considering last year, they were in the same situation. We met them the following week after the senior final and agreed then, to move the game to the Sunday. They have their reasons for changing their mind to move it back to last night, and considering how many senior players we have in our under 21 team, it doesn't take a scientist to work out why they did!

Bit early for talking about thr drive for 5. I recall it been spoken about during acceptance speech after 2 in a row a while ago. It backfired the following year.
I think they should concentrate on a back to back.
