Replying To jobber:  "We are competing in Joe Mcdonagh and thats our aim.

The 2026 champions Laois welcomed back Eoin Reilly and Picky Maher after more than a year out and what happened? They led an inexperienced Laois to the title.

Sure we need to build but this team also needs the experience and quality of the likes of Jogger, O Brien, Mitchell, Boyle Egerton."
do you think the likes of Jogger and boyle could be tempted back, they out of the players you listed made their statement on retirement for definite. i never heard anything from o brien or mitchell

Replying To Loughlenegale:  "The narrative that all of these players retired is not entirely accurate. Several found themselves outside the new management's plans and were left with little choice but to step away. While every management team deserves the chance to implement its vision, there is a fine line between regeneration and recklessness. Experience cannot be replaced overnight, leadership cannot be manufactured, and years of commitment should not be casually discarded. Progress should never require amnesia. A new broom sweeps clean, we are throwing the baby out with the bathwater."
You're spot on I see Waterford having similar issues if all the names floating around hear all retire!

I believe if the manager and importantly the new coach put in an effort several of these players could be tempted back.

I dont know if anybody has been appointed but he will obviously have a big role along with O Brien in persuading players to commit. Its almost october and still noone in the role.

Thats doubtful, O'Reilly is far more into his hurling than football and missed all the season last year due to injury. Maybe im wrong but it would be a surprise.

Id say anyone who gets a crack at football this year will take it after winning leinster last year its a group many would like to be apart of. Mitchell last year an obvious guy to switch over but reilly could do the same but like mitchell wouldnt make an impact on the footballers to the same extent as they would hurling.

Be shocked if Reilly doesn't go in with the footballers if he's asked. Rumours that a lot of last years panel weren't happy with K OBrien and won't be returning

Is that a wish list or a prediction. Regarding the intermediate semi finals I hope you are right but have serious doubts about Turin's ability to beat Clonkill.

The senior B, surely last years beaten finalists have to be favourites to beat a team who won the intermediate in 2024?

As for the senior A Raharney are everyones favourites against a CTG going for 3 in a row while the Blues have lost every big game they have played since Doyles last minute goal in 2023.

Reilly is a good lad but he is a far better hurler than footballer. Decent footballer but not in the mix yet.
