I'd say the kileevan and traugh players are raging. Both teams know they aren't going to win and I'm sure they wouldn't mind finishing up. So poorly handled by county board. What are killeevan gonna gain from this? They aren't gonna win Junior and if they somehow got promoted It'd be a very long year…. They can't even beat a truagh C team! Someone in the squad needs to tell the higher up people that they are wasting their time and they are making the club look stupid. They'd be missing graham too if not mistaken after him getting sent off against Currin. Aghbog v Truagh is only game affected all other fixtures go ahead this weekend. Killeevan feel aggrieved by the way this has been handles. bigger picture is that junior clubs are not happy with senior clubs participating in the junior league and championship under the current grading system. players yo yoing between their senior team and junior team , some players fielding for two teams over the same weekend and treating junior as a reserve league. the bye law regarding championship and league relegation playoff games needs to be tied up. this has caused the issue in this case. dates for junior semi finals weekend 3rd Oct Final 18th Oct Ulster club Monaghan v Antrim 1st Nov latefortraining (Monaghan) - Posts: 140 - 25/09/2026 13:59:13 2695015 Link

It's the incompetence of the Monaghan governing body that is really being highlighted. Loopholes in transfer regulations, unaware of what rules actually apply to Junior championship.... No 2nd teams should be allowed in the Senior, Intermediate or Junior championships. Reserve league and championship is where these players who cant make the club's first 15 should be playing.They are reserve players. One club, one championship team. Let the smaller clubs have their chance for a bit of glory. As I've said before, it would be like Manchester City being allowed to put a "Junior team " into League 2 and boys moving between the first and second teams a la Scotstown and Truagh. Fair play to Killeevan. They're showing a bit of fight for the junior clubs. County board is a joke. Sure it's gonna completely mess up the rest of junior championship. Like this has to be resolved then a quarter final then semi is fixed for next week. Could be a week yet to get this sorted. Absolute joke of a county. 2 months after the game is played and we still have nothing done about it. This is why the county board turned killeevan away. It raises the standard with scotstown in junior due to them having so much adult players although their should be tighter regulations. Was at a league game between scotstown and corduff in league and watched a lad come off bench in that game then went over to kilmore to watch scotstown C v Currin in kilmore as it was an hour later and watched second half, the same lad that came off bench in senior game went and played 20 mins in the junior game too! There is no rules about it in league but even in reserve competition it's the same players playing on the D team in 2A and the E team in 3B. County board just needs to have a set rules in place for there to be no problems if they're going to put these teams in.
