Is Rory Fahey the big lad that play at 14 for the Corofin minors? If so he is very dominant. Im also confused how he was not involved with the Galway Minors this year. (I heard only 3 lads not involved with the u16 winning ted webb team were selected from the trials of 80+ lads) Saw him play in the championship and he is an absolute handful, has speed and strength. Thoughts lads from this weekend everyone? Hot contenders Tuam are out. Oughterard a suberb win. They can't keep leaving it this late in the game to get it together tho. Must be absolutely kicking themselves not to top the group in the first place. If they can get their head around it and get their confidence right, they can definitely beat Salthill. Do they realise that themselves is the question. MM were playing great football, Joyce didn't take advantage of the Dalys half enough. Are Salthill and Maigh Cuillin as safe as they think they are? Mayo did 5 in a row 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 however during that time Roscommon was in Division 3 and 4 and Galway after relegation in 2011 wouldn't return back to Division 1 until 2018 so the standard of the Connacht championship was lower then than what Joyce had to face and beat to win 4 in a row provincial titles. Was it a huge achievement? No but what is truly laughable it is now trying to belittle the work Joyce did and remains to be seen if his replacement will do any better. '82-'87 did 5 out of 6, which was better in a way, unless Galway win it next year, and do their own 5 out of 6. The difference between Galway's 4 in a row '22-25, and Mayo's '11-'15 or Ros '77-'80, is that Galway were winning in less dominant fashion in Connacht as their reign progressed. We accumulated 4 in a row, with only paper thin margins of victory over Mayo, despite all the grandiose talk of being a generational team. How was McHugh for MM seeing as he's been touted as the Clifford of the Galway championship. Oughterard should give Moycullen a game but I'd still fancy Moycullen. Same goes for MM and Salthill. Berna gave a lot of problems for them in the 1st half when at HT it was 2 - 04 0 - 06 with a few missed goal chances for Bearna. That being said Cg scored 3 - 09 in the 2nd half. Annaghdown have conceded 20 scores in r1, 17 scores in r2 and 19 scores in r3 averages to about 18 scores per game and they've scored 18 scores in r1, 16 scores in r2 and 17 scores in r3 which averages to 17 scores per game. Cg we're poor enough against Cfin and slightly lucky to win against MM. Annaghdown however started off OK against St James's then got a good win against Tuam and once in control didn't really look like losing and drew against Oughterard whilst playing well. McHugh has been touted as an incredibly reliable freetaker, particularly those from long distance with the greater reward from these under the new rules. Something we've been lacking consistently at county level. He has continued to show this ability again in this year's championship. He's been the best free taker in Galway senior football for almost a decade. You have your fixtures mixed up there. Oughterard are playing Salthill and Mountbellew are against Maigh Cuilinn.
