Very tough to see Eslin looking like they are in hot water in the junior a championship after a 13 point loss in Carrick at the weekend. Youth must have been a huge benefit for Mary's. Does anybody know how many teams will be relegated this year?

Eslin got a very difficult group. 3 best teams in Junior look to be Kiltubrid, Aughnasheelin, and St Mary's B. I think Eslin will survive, but they're still very dependent on the Beirne brothers. They have/had some good young players coming through, but it appears Mohill GAA are keeping the stronger ones for themselves.

Im open to correction on this but im pretty certain there is ruling in junior A championship that a first team cannot be relegated, meaning Eslin would stay up no matter what with a clubs second team being relegated

Eslin have been in 2 relegation playoffs before so those games would have been dead rubbers if such a rule did exist

Player availability and injuries have had the biggest impact on teams this year. The rock-hard pitches have contributed towards a hugh amount of knee and ankle injuries.
Senior
Allen Gaels v Aughawillian
Both teams have been unlucky with injuries. I think Allen Gaels should be too strong and will book their place in the quarter-final.

Defence wins games and forwards decide by how much. For that reason, I'll give Ballinamore the nod, but it will be tight.
