Conor Raleigh winning the Under 16 two years in a row is phenomenal. Wonder is it a first for the u-16 competition.

The timing of Lough Lene Gaels v Delvin senior A championship match Sunday at the same time as the All Ireland hurling semi final is i would say very telling and shows the way our county priorities are right now. jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 1978 - 01/07/2026 22:35:28 2683551 Link 3 |

Crazy carry on, men mentioned in the podcast TOO It'd be a huge shame if it's true, I genuinely can't understand it at all. Thought the podcast was really well done to be fair. All the guests spoke honestly and respectfully, especially Pat O'Brien. Really enjoyed it and hope they keep it going. The lads even mentioned at the end that they were hoping there'd be no clashes with the All-Ireland finals or the Westmeath club championship games Clonkill looked strong in the intermediate last night too. Does anyone know if they'll lose many from the team that started to senior team I don't think CTG will have it as easy as last year with all the injuries. They still have huge numbers, but they'll need a few of the younger lads to step up. In fairness, nearly every Senior A club seems to be dealing with a few casualties this year apart from The Gaels and Fr. Daltons... although I could be wrong. Just to improve your English. A conspiracy theory is imagined.I am merely reporting a fact. If you dont like my opinion explain why I am wrong instead of using derogratory language. Or is it you wont or cant argue the point. jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 1978 - 02/07/2026 16:31:02 2683723 Link 1 |

Well the last time I checked, neither the Gaels or Delvin have any players represented on either the Limerick or Clare panels, (correct me if I'm wrong)… so not sure what the problem is ??

What an unbelievable response. Is it any wonder hurling is on its knees around the country

OK let me try and help the football people who dont understand that believe it or not people in Collinstown,Fore and Delvin are hurling fans who would love to see the All Ireland hurling semi final. Even from an economic point of view its a stupid piece of timing.

Im.just going to make one observation and I might not be liked for it..(i already noticed the way hurling was treated in the westmeath draws)..I was in a known hurling pub in westmeath the day of the all Ireland qtr final between cork and Offaly, they were showing the westmeath football against Monaghan which is totally understandable I've no issues with that..but what I'm trying to say is if it was vice versa with the hurlers doing well in the all Ireland like westmeath in the football this year id wager if I was in the football part of westmeath it would not be shown. preddan (Kildare) - Posts: 839 - 03/07/2026 13:04:16 2683913 Link 1 |

Same on Saturday, Cork v Galway at 3:30, intermediate game at 3pm, senior B game at 4:45, none of those players will get to watch much if any of the game, or God forbid players might want to go to either all ireland semi final stonemadbeany (USA) - Posts: 649 - 03/07/2026 14:02:45 2683933 Link 0 |

And believe me thats an attitude held by many in this county. But hurling people arent fools and this will spur them on. jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 1978 - 03/07/2026 16:10:43 2683977 Link 0 |

I'll go back further if ya like, there is no change in attitude to hurling and it goes back yrs. Sure look back to the last time the Leinster title was won and see how the hurlers were treated even after winning Christy ring.
