So apparently Dublin were awarded 21 frees to Galway's 6 on Sunday.

That's a very interesting statistic.

Replying To Pope_Benedict:  "Galway's head to head record with Armagh 2022-2026 feels like it's been about 50:50, so there isn't a pile of strong evidence to suggest that 'Armagh just had a better team' in July 2024.......a moment right in the middle of that 2022-2026 largely 50:50 rivalry. How do you know that Armagh 'didn't really perform to their level at all in that game'. That's just your opinion, a speculative assessment on your behalf. It's not a known or knowable fact."
It was a pretty close rivalry ye but for some reason Galway were made strong favourites in that final, never understood it.
I'd be pretty sure McGeeney would not be happy with the performance in that final had they lost, aside from the 12-15 minute period around the goal they were very cagey.

Yes it means the fouled much more than the Dubs who played football

Frees are earned by taking on your man.
Not many Galway players actually took on their man 1 v1. Passing the ball around slowly and laterally doesn't win frees as their is no need for the defender to foul. Taking him on 1 v 1 inside the 45 - now there is a reason to foul someone.

JimB1991 isn't from Donegal. They used to have a catchphrase under the other identity when they posted. What was it? Clare can you help us out?

Replying To candlewax:  "so you are saying we lost both leads against Dublin and Roscommon because of one player. it is a shame it is not a 15 man team game."
Sure it's always the goalkeepers fault as well.

Replying To togoutlads:  "7 years, extending to 9. Is this a dictatorship? Can PJ just kindly go at this stage. With his managerial shortcomings we have zero chance of winning an All Ireland in the next 2 years if he continues. Nobody deserves a 7 year stranglehold on a generational group of players. Let alone 9 years. Move aside PJ - thanks for your service but it's time to go. Everyone I speak to in Galway GAA circles is saying the same. Not one person has said to me that we need him to stay on. slán!"
Teams are a reflection of their manager. Galway don't want to win badly enough and don't have the killer instinct. Play is much too slow and ponderous. They look like a team who are just happy to be there. In any case they are far better off not maybe meeting Kerry and being slaughtered.
