I have listened to all the comments about the game and everyone will have their opinion but still think we should have kept the same lineup that started the last two games. I think C Neary was clearly missed further up the field. The amount of space he creates and the number of points scored and goal assists was clearly missing last Sunday. Defensively we were slack and a change was also made there, not taking anything away from the players that started but you have to wonder what may have happened if we kept the same lineup especially Neary further forward. Hope we get a decent draw now and get the win these players deserve. Towny10 (Roscommon) - Posts: 20 - 28/05/2026 01:40:08 2676197 Link 0 |

I'm inclined to agree with you. I posted last week that I thought it was a sensible selection and felt slightly uneasy with the team that started. It probably seemed stronger on paper but games aren't won on paper. With our luck I'm expecting a tough draw and that might not be a bad thing if its at home

If starting Cregg it should have been at the expense of R Heneghan imo. sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1285 - 28/05/2026 15:20:16 2676299 Link 0 |

Gavin was poor for Galway's first goal in the Connacht Final and was subsequently turned over for another Galway score. He can have no complaints about being dropped. Cregg should start ahead of Robert Heneghan but it has to be said that the turnover of Cregg by Tyrone for the two pointer just before half time was very costly. I'd start Colm Neary every day of the week and I'm not even a Strokestown man.! Hopefully we get a good draw next week and get the win and get a bit of momentum going again.

If Gavin was to be dropped then you'd think Niall Higgins should have started. CB for a CB. Similar Cregg and Rob Heneghan. Moving people around affected 4 lines Seanfan (Roscommon) - Posts: 592 - 28/05/2026 16:51:45 2676339 Link 0 |

Carroll Paddy gavin Stack Mccormack Ward Daly Lambe Doyle Ryan Ruane Smith Neary Murtagh Cregg D Heneghan Thats what i would be going with - Ward done nothing wrong and i thing R Fallon offered very little the last day. Paddy Gavin yes at fault for the goal but stuck to his task well after that for walsh. Stack comes back in will have another 3 weeks under his belt. Ronan Daly needs to block off the middle better or a change needs to happen there. Midfield have competed well in all games but doyle needs to mind the ball better. Neary was wasted in the corner back so i would have him further out. Ruane and Smith picks themselves. Daire cregg i thought was shocking against tyrone but id leave him there but paul carey is knocking on that door hard. D Heneghan had an off day but would back him to bounce back. Senan lambe needs serious credit he has been outstanding all year Tarismelting22 (Roscommon) - Posts: 810 - 28/05/2026 16:54:06 2676340 Link 0 |

Would Caelim Keogh be unlucky to lose out. I agree that Stack should start if fit. Cregg was poor against Tyrone but I'd stick with him. I've seen it said on Boards that Doyle and Ryan are too similar in midfield and that we should only start one of them. I think Fallon has a lot of ability and maybe him and Doyle at midfield. I hope we get to Croke park but we have to win two games now to get there and we'll need some luck in the draw.

Brilliant news well done to all involved. County Board Chairman said work would start this year and that looks realistic now.

We should start the same team that beat Galway and who played so well in the league. If it works don't fix it. You still have the options off a fantastic bench should changes be needed. Can't understand people wanting changes because they preformed in the past. This panel of players deserve there chance and when they bring players on they will need a massive performance to start in the next game. From what I've seen none of the lads deserve to be dropped. Up the Ross.

That is just fantastic news. Congratulations to the current executive of the Roscommon County Board but also leaders such as David O Connor, Brian Carroll, Pat Compton (club rossie) and MANY OTHERS who have worked long hours over several years putting this application together and have also seen Hyde Park being developed into a fine stadium over the last few years. All Rossies supporters should be very gratefull. Obviously there is still a lot of work to do and hopefully we will see work on the Dermott Early center of excellence start this year and additional work on Hyde Park to continue. Very well done to all involved (and there are many) with this initiative. This is a great day for Roscommon GAA and should be celebrated as it will have huge implications for Roscommon teams in the future. letsgetgoing (Roscommon) - Posts: 911 - 29/05/2026 20:09:32 2676493 Link 0 |
