Anymore than 4 weeks for that would be absolute joke. Even the 4 weeks would be a joke. How many times we see management getting heated in premiership etc and we love it. And there no fisticuffs and they shake hands after game and move on. If my manager didn't react the way Jim (If same thing happened me as did ryan mchugh) did I dunno if I'd want to play for him again. If that 12 week thing is imposed. One solution pull the team out of the chship. Turn the whole thing into a face cos thats what it would be anyway. That's what dubs should have done. Bit of common sense has to come into it somewhere. marty234 (Donegal) - Posts: 165 - 25/05/2026 01:49:57 2675215 Link 0 |

Be ready for what's coming. We need not have short memories. Where we not brought roscommon last year to play their near neighbours Mayo and then the only expected to play with 6 day turnaround for a quarter final.? There a lot of bitterness towards Donegal and Jim nationally just look at pundits. "We don't want to see a ban but the gaa have to follow what they did to Brennan" Absolute waffle. Does that mean every court in the country has to give 7 years for every assault cos another court give it. Totally different set of circumstances. Campbell on gaago saying brennan did less. I guess the fact we denied him his ulster medal still hurts deeply. Every case is different. And again Rte have nearly every other counties pundits on who have their own wee agendas and not 1 opinion from Donegal. They have covered it 3 times over last few days pity they didn't spend as much time covering the tailteann cups games. marty234 (Donegal) - Posts: 165 - 25/05/2026 02:17:20 2675216 Link 0 |

Really good to get the win. I'd say shot selection and therefore patience were key and that was so important after the down match. The scoring efficiency was so poor against down with a mixture or poor execution and shot selection. It was hugely improved on saturday. The sending off played into that as well with donegal going to patiently wait to the for right opportunity. Kerry no more than any other team need their best players available though even without the sending off donegal were the more likely winner against that kerry team. I hope the CCCC don't don't make a C C C C*** of it. You can't re-referee a game afterwards and pick out the things that suit a particular agenda, and ignore everything else. Because there were There were probably 10 separate incidents in the first half, and a few more during the Shemozzle that could be looked at in minute detail. If this happens, then the CCCC becomes VAR For Dummies. SouthOfTheGap (Donegal) - Posts: 925 - 25/05/2026 08:03:26 2675228 Link 0 |

Better team won, first half gave us everything we expected, even more...... Kerry maybe not too focused and on laying down a physical marker and got hit for 1-2 early. Both teams physical, both teams pulling and dragging. Heurson let a lot of it go. Maybe too much. Burns shot on Ryan was a clear red and ruined the game as a contest. Donegal gave a clinic on how to play with an extra man and up a few points. Booing of Murphy was farcical and pointless. It lifted the Donegal team so I don't know what the point was. Donegal support was massive from looking across at the stand from the terrace, they had more supports in the stand than us. Not looking great. Missing too many. Sean O Shes still in a boot from what I heard. So another Months before we see him if even then. For all the complaints about Kerry's displine, Donegal got away with murder. They got away with a lot of fouls on turnovers to slow down play. As well while there is a lot of compliants about the treatment of Micheal Murphy at the start of the match it was nothing compared to the treatment that DC got at the start of the match. There was nottwo trying to pull the Jersey off MM. hlynch12 (Limerick) - Posts: 40 - 25/05/2026 09:31:24 2675241 Link 0 |

100% if they sanction one they have to the other. Given Kerry's current injuries I think Clifford would be the bigger loss. peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1632 - 25/05/2026 10:00:52 2675253 Link 1 |

I saw another person say same about Brennan. Listening to Tommy Rooney and football Pod. Same as RTE, they are all saying that he has to be banned for 12 weeks. This is an utter farce. I agree. Donegal should threaten boycott shaggykev (Donegal) - Posts: 441 - 25/05/2026 10:42:25 2675274 Link 0 |

To quote Jim McGuinness and his own wee agenda from his Irish Times article in 2017 after Diarmuid Connolly was banned for the slightest touch on a linesman - "he laid his hand on the official and by the letter of the law had to be hit with a suspension". Jim needs to stop playing both sides of the coin. He entered the field of play, put his hands on an opposition player and deserves the exact same ban Ger Brennan got. He let himself down post match with his angry comments and would have been better served doing what Brennan did and holding his hands up and apologizing for what he did wrong. Jim in 2017 goes on to write of Jim Gavin - "Then he sees the analysis of the incident on The Sunday Game, led by Pat Spillane and supported by Colm O'Rourke. And he seizes on the tenor of that to castigate the television analysts for what he interprets as a clear attempt to influence the due process. By bringing his thoughts into the public arena, it becomes a negative/siege mentality." Jim can't apply one rule to the rest and another to himself. Rules are rules, McGuinness was foolish to even be near the Kerry player never mind touch him. As much as I wouldn't be Jack O'Connor's biggest fan you'd never see him do something similar. However harsh you think it is won't matter. Clear precedent has been set with Ger Brennan and it would be extremely flawed if leniency is shown to someone with the profile of Jim McGuinness. Also, you had the shorter turnaround last year because you lost to Tyrone, not because of any agenda. McGuinness excellently used the fixture being in Hyde Park as a method to create a siege mentality. ConyersHill04 (Monaghan) - Posts: 78 - 25/05/2026 11:33:38 2675299 Link 0 |

Really great performance from Donegal, we used the 4 week break really well. Finbarr Roarty and Brendan McCole did great jobs on David and Paudie. Oisin Gallen continued his great form and Langan brilliant again. Green_Gold (Donegal) - Posts: 1941 - 25/05/2026 11:37:41 2675305 Link 0 |
