Someday someone will write a book will on the tyrone hoo doo over Monaghan in big championship games, senior to underage, must be into double digits now since the turn of the century. Hard luck monaghan but tyrone were much better

Lesson for Monaghan's defence yesterday evening. Tyrone's inside forwards absolutely electric. Will stand to these young players moving forward.

In the cold light of day, our u20 record this year says we beat Cavan Fermanagh and Antrim. The Armagh win does deserve a mention as they are a football county.

And every one of them pretty much the same. Tyrone always play in those games expecting to win. We play like we are hoping to win.

3-7 stemmed from the same mistake.

Reality is we've regressed massively from minor competition in 2023 and Tyrone as expected have improved massively. Only four starters from the Tyrone Minor Team that we beat in Roslea on Penalties played last night, completely new core of young players. While they might be struggling to break these men through at Senior Level, undoubtedly they have the best underage set up in the country.

Some great players but like any Monaghan team we need all our best players playing and unfortunately we didn't. Looking at Scotstown u20 players their senior team looks like the

Beggan

McArdle
O'Toole
McCaffrey

Connolly
K Hughes
McCarthy

McCarville
K Hughes

Max Maguire
Carey
Mallon

McElwaine
McCarron
Maguire

Bench
Darragh Murray
F Maguire
McPhillps

The list goes on

Is there a better club starting team ?? All co players

Max Maguire might not be a bad shout for a late call up to the bench for Saturday evenings ulster semi final v Derry .

It's just disappointing for a team training 3 times a week since last November seem to never once have spoke about defending in a game. 4.19

Beggan's spot will be safe if he decided to play until he was 50.

Tough on the fella but it was like shooting yourself in the foot with each kickout.

Last night was disappointing but let's focus on Saturday now. Derry beckons. Expect them to hit us with speed and we need to negate that. We need to protect our goal, Derry will exploit any weakness in defence and if they find a way to raise a green flag, it might be the first of many.
I don't think Derry are that great, I think we have more than the beating of them and I hope that the team are well prepped for this match.

Very disappointing in Armagh last night. As a rule u20s and under shouldn't be named or singled in criticism of a performance- they are only lads after all.
Tyrone deservedly won but it was a loss somewhat of Monaghan's own making. I thought they looked very composed for the first period and owned the ball, but the gifting of 3 sloppy/ panicky goals before HT was game over. They showed great courage to get back to within 3 only to repeat the error for a 4th Tyrone goal. A harsh lesson. Some real talent in that Tyrone lineup.
