Replying To SouthOfTheGap:  "It is crtainly a lot better supported in the last 10 years or so than previously, but still probably limited to a few small pockets. There wouldnt be a huge crossover of players, especially in the strong football areas. But a lot of good work being done in those areas, and the likes of our manager Mickey McCann couldn't possibly give any more for the cause. But it wouldnt be an easy job.

Any day we are competing against a county like Wicklow, that touches a traditional hurling county we are doing really well. But the next step is huge.

Would Wicklow have players playing club hurling in traditional counties?"
Congrats to Donegal on their victory today. I don't think many saw that coming. I thought Mr O'Connor looked shell shocked at the end. No doubt he will have a plan come the end of the AI season. I am really impressed with the way your hurlers have improved over the last few years. Some really good players and somebody is putting in the effort.

Well I don't think any of us seen that coming, great to win a national title in Croke Park. Murphy was very lucky to stay on the pitch but the games gone now, on we go to Letterkenny and Down!

Yeah it was.
Dunno what he was playing at.
It's not in his usual character.

Some won the day. There won't be a team to lay a glove on Donegal up until and a Mayo in a semi final who might catch them on an off day.

Thanks Mick, Kerry will be a different prospect if we meet in Championship, nobody thinks different, but we will enjoy this win for sure.

As others have said, please list the red cards with solid examples Murphy should have had. He's not always the best of tacklers and can be late.

And he is often given deserved yellows for that

But today is the first time I would say he deserved a red.

Thanks for adding your congratulations by the way... Not

Brilliant win today, credit to the Donegal players and management for a well executed game plan. Kerry seemed to lack energy or intensity, definitely weren't themselves, maybe because of the Armagh match last weekend as Jack O'Connor had pointed out. It wasn't simply a tactical masterclass, Kerry were definitely lacking something, but we know they will rebound and will still be the toughest team to beat in the All Ireland series.

Probably my biggest relief today was seeing Brendan McCole and Gavin Mulready line out, as had we lost them on top of the other players that are out, we would have been in deep trouble heading into the Championship. Thankfully both have pulled through.

Looking ahead to Ulster, Down will be a tricky one, because while they weren't overly impressive against Wexford on Saturday evening, we kinda know from last season and 2023 that they will be gunning for us and will be seeking a massive shock. Kickout strategy is where it will be won or lost.

Grma Mick it was a great performance from us but without a doubt things will play out differently if we meet again come Championship, I thought yous looked very very leggy and can't underestimate the loss of O'Brien in the middle of the field I would say? Especially as yous are already so light in that area with injuries.

Very pleased from our side of things and a good confidence boost for a good few players in terms of the performance, but wouldn't read much into it from Kerrys perspective. Ádh mór

Very good win today, Michael Langan an absolute Rolls Royce of a player, so so good. For as good as we were, Kerry looked very disinterested in the 2nd half, I have a feeling we could be meeting them further down the line, this is exactly the result that will give them the fire in the belly.

As for the Murphy incident, no point defending it, it was reckless and a straight red, no questions about it.

The squad has developed well over the league, young Campbell excellent yesterday also. Onwards and upwards, roll on Down in 4 weeks!
