Replying To Commodore:  "Jim won't send a Donegal team out to lose any league game, he just doesn't look at it as an important competition to win for Donegal, his priority is more focused on road testing new players and getting minutes into the legs of players on the road back from Injury and using it as a platform to road-test tactical experiments.

I'd expect us to beat Monaghan, even though the game is at Clones."
if i know jammy he will want to inflict as much pain on any ulster team when he can, so no tails can be up come ulster championship. Donegal could win this game by 20 if they wanted to

I don't think Jim will be too worried about beating Monaghan. He will use his panel of players like he has done in all other League matches and if he ends in a League final so be it.
Jim's sole focus is on the Ulster Championship and having a panel of 26 players with plenty of matches under their belt.

Conor mccahill came off very early in tonight's match, hopefully nothing serious. Don't know how we dragged ourselves back into that game but fair play to the lads. Muldoon was excellent. Turlough carried a lot of ball. They hit a serious amount of wides, some wayward shooting as they struggled to break down the fermanagh defence. Composure when they needed it at the end just to finish it out and great to grind out the win.

Jim has bigger priorities at the minute. With injuries to Shaun Patton, Ciaran Thompson, Daire O'Baoill, Ciaran Moore, Shane O'Donnell, Mark Curran and Oisin Gallen, and a few others needing to build minutes in the legs, his focus is all about getting us right for the Ulster Championship opener against Down,

He will probably give the U20's time away from the panel for their own U20 campaign, so the likes of Finbar Roarty, McCahill, Muldoon and Carr will not be featuring, expect a lot of players who have only limited game time so far to get a run out.

Sure Finbarr didn't feature last night?

He didn't. He was there, as was Jim. To be honest, I'd expect Finbarr to play on Sunday.

named as captain and told not allowed to play by higher up. Id question the 20s management on decision to name captain. looks terrible on the sqad

And the fact Finbar didn't feature last night end the silly theory that Jim McGuinness doesn't care about the league.

Is that a statement or a question Linda Martin?

U20 manager said he was available for selection but he decided not to play him which is fair enough considering we were supposed to win that game handy and Finnbarr has already played a ridiculous amount of football over the last year or more

Doesn't look terrible at all. Its about managing players correctly. Maybe if Monaghan did a bit more of that they wouldn't have all the injuries they have now and might have avoided relegation

Monaghan have an U20 team with aspirations of winning an All Ireland, containing some of the brightest young talent that you ever had, yet not one of them can break onto the Senior team during the current injury crisis. Looks terrible on the county.

Not a bit wonder Monaghan have no senior team if that's the way your teams are managed. Finbar got an All Star and young Player of the Year 2025 because he was integrated into the Donegal senior team. If ye used some of your U20's in senior squad ye might not have got relegated before the last round of fixtures.

Finbar has a lot of football played and was rested. It also give another U20 player a match.

20+ years the same carry on was going in Laois who had won a number of minor all irelands and were prioritising u21 over senior team. Tom Cribben was manager of seniors at time and spoke out about it, nothing changed , and lapis never won an u21 allireland either
