Well yew_tree, what do you think of Seamie O'Shea taking the reins at Ballymun Kiickhams.?

Jamesie McC, his old nemesis, had a big part in roping him in... ;o)

"He's just living in the area," said McCarthy, rubbishing the 'rumour mill' which had suggested that John Small might be taking the role after retiring from Dublin duty.

"Seamie has kids down in the Ballymun nursery and stuff so we nabbed him one day and had a chat with him. He's been roped in now. We were joking that we used to knock into each other a fair bit on the pitch over the years but no, we're delighted to have him in with Kickhams."

Best of luck to Seamus at Ballymun. His kids play for the club so seems to be fully integrated in there by now.

Also well done to UL last night at the 11 Mayo boys on the team/panel.

Looks like a sold out game up in Letterkenny. Won't make this one myself. It will be a good test. Donegal look fit and have most definitely not fallen back from last year. It will take a very good team to team them this year so they will be in the last 4 at the very least.

Will be interesting to see what sort of team Andy goes with. I'd take a draw right now. In an ideal world you'd get safe asap and then experiment/bring in fringe players.

I think the new championship format has rendered the league less important tbh.

TBH Donegal had the beating of probably all their men today in 1 on 1 play. They are now by far the most direct minded team in the country. There was no holding the ball even in the first half, it was head for goal all the time. They were second best last year and are at least as good again, though they did tire a good bit in last 10 minutes. For ourselves the biggest concern is that we are playing more of our established players than any other team. I have no fear of us not staying up, and expect the best to come form them when sun comes out.

I don't think anyone was expecting to come away with points from that game, but still disappointing enough display. Return of Loftus the only positive. Expect a tough game next week, looking a must win at this stage.

Hardy a must win when we're already on 4 points

Mayo lacked speed to match Donegal.
If it was a big factor in February, it will be a bigger one in June

You were on another counties forum telling them the issue with their over 30s might be an issue closer to home that needs looking at

You looked as flat as pancake compared to the full of running you had against Galway. Perhaps Moran and Co are in the middle of heavy training leaving little in the legs for match days?

No harm getting bit of a reality check, calm down the hype that was starting.
Mayo couldnt live with Donegal strong running, and created holes in Mayo defence constantly.
D Mchugh and D O Connor first starts, and O Connor struggled. Having both Carr and O Shea playing wont work as neither can track. O Connor and Tuohy lacked pace around the middle.
Loftus and Durcan improved things, both have pace and good footballers.
Loftus will be a starter come championship.
Shooting was terrible, but at least they are creating goal chances, loftus and berine twice should have scored goals.
Carr had a lot of improving to do, personally I dont think he is good enough to start. Tommy Conroy and hopefully if Cian Mchale can bring his Sigerson form with him, he will make an impact. Frank Irwin and Darren Mchale also might come in at some stage, plus Kobe and Tom Lydon from u20s

Never usually agree with you but yeah we looked knackered. Heard they did to some heavy training. Even the commentator said Mayo look exhausted

Far from flying just scraping a few points.

Big challenge against the best forward line in Connacht this weekend

At least Jim B was happy in your house last night.
