Replying To Dheen:  "I meant to say promoted. Winning it ahead of Laois with a new team would be a great achievement your right. I just hope Kevin O'Brien is given at least 3 years, there's a lot of quality young players in the panel and even more to come from minor and u20, he should be given the opportunity to build with the aim of maybe winning the Joe Mcdonagh in year 3/4.
Majority of yesterday's team were under 25."
100%. Management should be given three years minimum to make some progress

I think this will depend on results & player buy in. If results go wrong & players lose faith it can all fall apart very quickly as we know from previous years. Hopefully they can get a result in Kerry & push on from there.

CBS Mullingar vs CBS Kilkenny in the A semi final next Wednesday in Portlaoise. Hopefully they will have the good support.

On a positive note, it's great to see all 15 hurling clubs represented on the panel.

Good runout for lot that hadn't played. Think only 4 starters from Walsh Cup game. Won I think by 2 2-27 to 2-25 Dean Ennis and Josh Coll with the goals. Soft goal conceded keeper will be disappointed as his puck outs had been good

Hard luck to CBS in th semi final. It cant be understated how impressive it is what theyve achieved this year. Huge credit must go to the managment who is improving the skills of these already talented hurlers. it can only benefit westmeath going forward competing in A hurling well done all.

Hopefully they can keep playing in A over the next few years. Would be massive for Westmeath hurling!

1st years, 2nd years and Junior team all in A this year as well so the signs are very good.

Superb effort from the Senior team, especially with a few key players out through injury.

CBS are putting serious work into hurling & its great to see so many years completing in the A championship. Hard luck to the seniors yesterday, its effectively a u19 championship so we should have a few very strong u20's coming through. Only two of the starting team are with this years county minors but I'm told almost half of the CBS team yesterday are in 5th year & will be playing again next year which is a good sign.

Its great to see Mary's have a conveyor belt of talent coming through with all age groups competing at A, they are putting in great work, Micheal Lawlor spoke about how they have a development plan in place from 1st year right up to 6th year. The clubs must be given credit too as the schools only get these lads at 12/13 years of age.
At county level this year we have very capable minor and u20 teams. Hopefully we put together strong runs in both competitions.
