Yes I was. Leitrim played some brilliant football against a poor Longford side with the Longford manager only having had one session with them before the Leitrim game. Nice to see a few new additions to the team starting Niamh Morahan, Aoibhin mcgoldrick, kate gormley and martina gallagher. My POTM has to be Emma Guckina, played a blinder getting herself scores and setting them up. Hoping they get promoted this year.

The ladies should definitely be operating at a higher league. But look up to them to do that. Likewise I hope they get promoted.

It was discussed at the AGM. AGM minutes should be online somewhere

I think ladies league is one team up and one down right? That makes it awful tough going, the intermediate win 2 years ago was brilliant and no doubt they will target it again but league promotion has to nearly be a bigger target

Changed to 2 up 2 down a couple of years ago. But for some reason, in Div 4 the top 4 go into semifinals (in the other three, the top 2 go straight into the final), and the semifinal winners go up (and contest the Div 4 final).

Any word on Barry mc Nultys availability for league. He was one of top players in sigerson last year and named on sigerson team of year but haven't seen him feature for the college or Leitrim so far and wondering if he's injured. Be big loss if not available Gaagael15 (Galway) - Posts: 25 - 20/01/2026 11:19:44 2652036 Link 0 |

Hamstring injury. Unlikely to be available this weekend. Dodgy_Pass (Leitrim) - Posts: 420 - 20/01/2026 13:06:35 2652066 Link 2 |

Ah yes, it was the semis stage where they kept falling short. Definitely held them back a bit in senior last year not getting the better quality opposition in the run up to championship but probably just too massive a step up anyway, hoping they can do a double this year. The ladies nearly always compete better than the lads but with far less resources allocated to prep, facilities etc. they get on with it rather than complaining about who's in or out. I wish them well for the year ahead

Massive loss. We'll be doing well to keep touch with Wicklow. Not the end of the world if we loose but puts us under obvious pressure for the rest of the league.
