I am 100% for Northern Ireland when they play, even if the game itself is a hard watch.
Shame the FAI and IFA don't merge for the sake of the people.

Same here. I was just delighted to see that Heimer got to poke people like Dunphy in the eye.

I for one don't want them to merge because the first thing that will happen is the tricolour will disappear and so will the anthem, we'll be left with...Ireland's call...shudder. No thanks a lot

Yeah that would work well, especially with all we have in common

Northern Ireland play nice decent passing football.....missing a good reliable keeper and regular goalscorer upfront!

Agreed.

The Manager's post match reaction was classy. He could have put Tony O'Donoghue back in his box big time but just made one quip about 'so you keep reminding me'.

Hopefully they win on Sunday.

I'm for Norn Ireland in the soccer, time to bury the hatchet lads,
they got their 1998 agreement fair and square, get over it already.
They never, ever need to unite with the FAI.

Lads here seem to be getting Irish soccer backwards on here. The IFA are still administering the game in the North. And are still called the Irish Football Association. The FAI broke away, not the other way around.

Yes, and despite winning we still have dropped from 3rd to 4th in the World rankings, after England beat the All blacks.

Watched it. There was very little friendly about it. I also watched Athy v Summerhill. Question for the experts on here. Since when is hauling a player down, almost, if not in, the square, not a black card ??

You can thank Jamie Bryson loving Joe Brolly for that one, no need for black cards as all refs have different punishments. Stick to the yellow card and fair play to any man or woman who saves their team a goal by hauling an opponent down.

Next week will tell a lot. I think that if IRL had played NZ at the end of these games we might have a different result. In my opinion SA, France, England and probably / possibly NZ are ahead of Ireland at this point in time

Just watching the build up to the soccer here on RTE, one thing mystifies me about soccer pundits, the pundits saying here that we must win tonight etc. it's the middle of the day in my time zone anyway?
