Leitrim Gaels better team on the day today but as pointed out above solely because of their imports. Ballinamore are the best team, fully home grown. Saying that not that Leitrim Gaels will care one bit. It is true tho as previously posted they would only be a semi final team at max without the Jones, prob just a quarter this year without the Jones and David Bruen coming back. Alot to be said for winning with your own, do the bring the cup to the schools in Derrygonnelly and Boho on Tuesday or what's the plan. Fenagh must be sick leaving the championship behind them. I feel they wud have given Leitrim a better game today. Zucker (Leitrim) - Posts: 162 - 19/10/2025 18:58:44 2640670 Link 0 |
Surprised they even broadcast it tbh, usually a Roscommon u8 winter shield league final would take precedence over anything from Leitrim or Longford on that station.

Fair play to Leitrim Gaels. Clearly the best team in the Leitrim Championship. I think having a club like Leitrim Gaels who are a cut above other teams might actually drive up the standards of the other clubs in the chasing pack like Mohill, Fenagh, SOH, Mary's etc. I sincerely hope Leitrim Gaels give a good account of themselves in Connacht and maybe even win a game. backtoback2 (Longford) - Posts: 53 - 19/10/2025 20:22:31 2640685 Link 0 |
Fenagh have had plenty of chances the last few years and haven't been able to take them so I doubt they'd have done any better today. Congratulations to Leitrim Gaels I'm delighted for them ,, played against them when they were a poor Junior team ,never would have thought they would end up where they are now. As for criticism of the Jones brothers joining i doubt any club in the county would have turned them away.

County keeper Noel Crossan Ballinamore to Mary's. Kevin Keaney played in a Junior final for Glenfarne against Kiltubrid and later played for Kiltubrid. Tommy Ellis Mohill to Fenagh. A few St Mary's to Leitrim Gaels!!!! IronSleeve (Leitrim) - Posts: 48 - 19/10/2025 22:51:37 2640705 Link 0 |
Sheemore Gaels wore green and red hoops.

Can anyone explain to me why Maxwell hit EVERY SINGLE kick out down the middle to Leitrim Gaels midfield (Their best line)? Not one ball went short or was pinged to a sideline! Roadtodiv3 (Leitrim) - Posts: 18 - 20/10/2025 00:19:58 2640715 Link 0 |

Congrats to Leitrim Gaels better team on the day. Shame to see a home grown club go down so badly with some great Leitrim players on it that have given Leitrim supporters some of the best days. An issue I have is the man of the match award, I feel as though there was only two main contenders No.11 (Jones) & No.8 (Jones) - If the county border were willing to let them in to dilute Leitrim football they should stick to their guns and give it to them. blacklion1 (Cavan) - Posts: 9 - 20/10/2025 08:46:07 2640726 Link 0 |
Does Kevin Moran of Man United and Dublin fame actually have an Aughnasheelin connection? *Well done Leitrim Gaels* premiumrashers (Leitrim) - Posts: 56 - 20/10/2025 08:51:31 2640729 Link 0 |
Not Maxwells fault, any game I've seen Leitrim Gaels play in the flood the entire break zone with massive numbers and the Ryan is very strong in the air he gets most breaks off clean enough so it's a massive advantage, all year I haven't seen one other team commit as many numbers as Leitrim Gaels to the breaking ball. So regardless where you place the ball they have an advantage. Another issue was on ballinamores own Kickouts they didn't commit enough men on the defensive side of the breaks which allowed Leitrim Gaels to run at them directly through on goal, this is where they got the majority of their scores. The new rules mean that opposition kickouts are more important than your own. Hatchetman76 (Leitrim) - Posts: 35 - 20/10/2025 09:49:20 2640743 Link 0 |
Fully home grown? would Ballinamore be travelling to Fenagh school if they won?

I think it's time we see the addition of a few Allen Gaels players to the panel this year. The likes of Arek Oberwan, Jake Tobin and karl foley have been terrific young prospects this year. Ciaran McMorrow has been completely overlooked when it comes to county trials, has been a standout player for Allen Gaels in the last two or three years
