Oh, to see such days ....."
In the nicest possible way, im confused, Boden v Fianna hasn't been played yet, did I miss something? And your Schadenfreude towards Leinster just losing to Munster is puzzling! What's the storey there? There's great history between gaa and rugby down the years! I played both codes myself and both had a positive impact on my performance in both codes Also played soccer but was useless l, Cycled competitively and was actully my best disipline. Plenty of others have also done same. All sport is good! Can never understand why people slate any sport! Why do you? I really enjoy your knowledge of Dublin hurling but then you go and let yourself down with a post like above.

Dublin SFC Final
Boden 1-16 v Na Fianna 1-12 FT

Just home and dried & warmed up after a very wet and cold night in Dublin HQ.

I thought NF were in with a great chance when leading 7pts to 3pt in the first half but Boden levelled it up at HT 7pts a piece.

The power of Boden was clearly evident and with Collie putting on yet another all round excellent performance. the Glasnevin men had no answer in the 2nd half. But really the game was just over midway through that 2nd half, I felt.
I thought the NF kickouts were not working at all and surprised Davy kept going long.

To be honest I was gutted for the ever young Jonny Cooper, but delighted for Collie.

For the statisticians, Boden had 7 scorers and NF had 5.
With only one 2pointer throughout the whole game.

Daire Sweeney top scored with 8pts but 7 were frees and he missed a simple free also.

Congrats Boden.
Very hard luck to my near neighbours.

Ok so now that the Dublin SFC is over - how many new players do the Dubs on here think will make the Dublin panel in 2026.

Not many at all unfortunately.

Personally I think Cuala are the best team in the county but their last 5minutes malfunction v Boden in the Semi final will haunt them for quite a while. But credit to Boden for their fight back and their very strong performance in the Final tonight. Well done and congrats.
Hopefully they do well in Leinster.

As for newbies for the Dubs next year, unfortunately, I am struggling to find any who will make a big difference to our current squad.

But Collie Basquel needs to start in my opinion.
He had a very good Dublin SFC for Ballyboden.
Consistently their go to man.
Delighted for him.

Apologies for my post last night Barney, it was over the top! I was tired, emotional, and a bit tipsy after a tough week!

Fair play to you for not retaliating! At the end of the day we're all looking for the same result! Up the Dubs!

Collie Basquel is a Puzzle! He could go from turning in a man of the match performance in an All Ireland semi final to being annoymous in a final! When he's on form though he's lethal!

He's a very talented player and an excellent athlete. To my untrained eye, he looks like the type of player who will go to town on a marker who can't match him.
But if his opponent can compete with him physically, he struggles to get into the game at all. I've seen it often with lads who can go from 9/10 performances to 3/10 and back again, versus players who have more solid fundamentals and will give you a 7/10 minimum almost every time.

Have seen quite a few games this year and honestly struggling to see who can make any meaningful impact for Ger and his management team. Even Boden as winners I don't think have anyone obvious that has stood out in terms of new talent. Daire Sweeney is a good club player but fairly far off intercounty level but he'll likely get a few pre-season games with Dublin even still. Collie is a complete headscratcher. He can go from being sublime and near unmarkable to being totally ineffective, erratic with his shooting etc. I think he will be a solid option for Ger Brennan but that probably speaks to the lack of any real competition for places to say Collie will likely start. Hugh O'Sullivan despite his kickouts in the first half I think looks like a potential long term goalkeeping solution.

Boden now that Naas are gone will fancy a tilt at Leinster but there's always a banana skin or two to get over along the way.

One thing that stood out for me with Collie this year is how much he has bulked up.

He is deceptively strong now and despite some big hits he received in the Dublin SFC, he was able to break the tackle and score or set up scores. For me his scoring % needs to improve a little but he has bundles of talent.

Really hope he has a big impact for us in 2026.

Yep with Cuala and Naas gone, Leinster is wide open now.

Excellent news.
Jonny has a hell of a lot to offer.
Delighted he will now be part of a Dublin setup.
Well done Dublin CB & Ger.
Watch this space.... this is a great stepping stone for him.
