As long as I've been watching them, plenty of years now, Turloughmore have been short of a corner forward who can get a goal out of nothing and do little or nothing else. A poacher, if you will.

At the sharp end these chaps make the difference and you can't really get by without them unless you dominate the ball throughout

Exactly 2 poor games too many misplaced passes for the world of me i can't understand turloughmore obsession with the short puck outs and taking it into contact and being overturned at least 3 of the loughrea points came from it

Two poor games? Cwell were easily beaten but you can't say the second was a poor game, it was in a very strong wind, in very very strong rain. A bit of context wouldnt go astray.

Turlough don't have it. They havent had it for many years. Hence why they fall short year after year for 40 years. Defenders converted to forwards. Jamie Holland taken off second half. Without Walsh frees and 2 from lotus who else scored.

Re the final, the Loughrea forwards Vs the Thomas' backs and the midfield match ups are the most crucial.

The weather was poor I admit but that still doesn't excuse some of the basis mistakes made by some very experienced players passing the ball to the opponents when under no pressure and suicidal short puck out from turloughmore

To be successful at the business end you need an X factor forward for sure. You still need ball winners to get a good share of possession too though.

Shocking decision to play Co. Final in Pearse Stadium again when a full house was guaranteed in Athenry especially after the unbelievable occasion it was last year.
The clubs involved shouldn't put up with it.

Kinvara 1-21 1-19 Beagh

Looks close on paper but it wasn't on grass.

Kinvara comfortably the better side as a 'from play' tally of approx. 1-17 to 0-10 or so would imply.

A combination of switching off after building up a big lead and a referee in the last 10 minutes awarding Beagh numerous frees for innocuous looking challenges. It's not a foul when a defender stands his ground when a forward carries the ball into contact and hits the floor. If it were we would have 100 frees per match and no play.

Nobody says the free count should be equal as that's plainly ludicrous, but a free count of 21-6 in Beagh's favour, given the disparity in scores from open play, gives food for thought. Particularly as from memory the yellow card count was equal.

It's not the referee's job to 'make the game competitive' or give a leg up to a team who can't manage it by themselves.

Totally Agree with that game should be on in Kenny Park and feel the disregard to Galway gaa to the supporters is ludicrous but dont see them changing their minds. A crowd of 8000 is kenny park would have the place buzzing where in stadium they will probably only get 6,000 which would be about 20% capacity. Back to the hurling should be a good game between to strong sides defending champions against the standard bearers of last decade. Turlough once again fail to deliver and if anything are falling further behind.
