And who would pay for these private companies to stream all these countless club games? It's relatively cheap to pay to watch a club game from the comfort of your armchair. Before Covid this didn't even exist in most counties.

Seventeen county senior finals down for decision this weekend! Semi finals in Kerry. Rathmore v Austin Stacks and Mid Kerry v Dingle. Mid Kerry and Dingle would have been favourites to make the final if they avoided each other. Mid Kerry seem to have gelled like a club side. Tough one to call. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 9215 - 17/10/2025 07:24:09 2640356 Link 0 |
Would love to see Daingean get to the final and win it. Stacks appear to have reinvented themselves well! People find Kerry championship puzzling but the jeopardy element keeps clubs on their toes and obviously helps to maintain high standards. people are never happy yew_tree, they'll be complaining about having to pay anything to watch the match in person soon enough

Loughmacrory into their first ever Tyrone championship final after beating their closest rivals Carrickmore by a single point. This game went down to the wire with the winners missing a penalty late on only to see Carrickmore scoring a penalty to go in front in injury time, but up steps Ruairi Mc Cullagh to land a 2 pointer from play. Brilliant. Saynothing (Tyrone) - Posts: 2429 - 17/10/2025 22:53:40 2640470 Link 2 |
Very poor Dublin final. Might win Leinster but All Ireland well beyond Ballyboden. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3734 - 19/10/2025 09:23:30 2640597 Link 1 |
Will Trillick be a step too far? Loughmacrory scored well against Carrickmore, but conceded 4 goals?

It'll be a Stacks v Dingle final in Kerry. Mark O'Connor back from Australia for the winter was outstanding today. Next week's final is shaping up to be a battle of Joe v Mark. The winner will go on to Munster. Dr Crokes are out. They needed Mid Kerry to win. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 9215 - 19/10/2025 16:01:37 2640641 Link 1 |
I do fancy Trillick who are a top class outfit, That would pit them against Kilcoo who are coming to the boil just at the right time , a mouthwatering clash for sure

Is Mark O'Connor staying about I wonder? He'd be a serious addition to an already formidable Kerry panel.

Has another year on his contract AFAIK. Huge loss. A Stacks player will be going Down Under as well. Kerry is being plundered.

The Downs in Westmeath would be a decent bet for the Leinster and a good shout for the All Ireland. They will inevitably win the Westmeath Final against Kinnegad on Sunday. In the 2025 Westmeath Championship, The Downs are winning games by an average margin of 12. They thrashed Kinnegad by 12 already and hammered back to back Champions St Loman's by the same margin. Luke Loughlin is unmarkable, especially with 11 v 11, very headstrong player. Luke has scored 5-37 in 6 matches!! They also have Westmeath midfielder Jonathan Lynam and Westmeath full back Charlie Drumm. They have proved that their squad is more than their county stars as Lynam and Drumm missed a few games. Having watched the Dublin Final, Ballyboden are strong favourites but I would have The Downs 2nd favourites. iarmhiabu (Westmeath) - Posts: 255 - 20/10/2025 10:23:57 2640755 Link 0 |
I fancied Daingean to win All Ireland a few years ago and thought maybe they had missed the boat with Crokes coming back strong, I'll be wetting my beak now!

It is a very interesting time of the year with different clubs and styles going into battle against clubs from other counties and provinces. Hopefully the weather will be reasonable enough over the coming weeks. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 10086 - 20/10/2025 12:04:22 2640779 Link 0 |
It's the Tyrone championship so you never know, Loughmacrory won't fear Trillick.

It gives exactly what the Down championship doesn't give, a one sided championship from start to finish. Only for an off year Kilcoo would have 13 in a row. Some championship. In Tyrone it's 21 years since team done back to back.
