Any word on the U20 management? The word is Ryan Jones wants the gig but the clear favourite should be Shane Ward. He will know the players inside out from the Leitrim schools team last year. He was in with the Donegal U20s and his management and coaching will have improved since he was over the Leitrim Seniors. If he could bring in a few young fresh coaches under him from the county it would also help - but its hard to think of any off the top of my head.

Brilliant final round of the Senior championship.

I can see Aughawillan and Mohill ending up in a draw and St Marys beating Ballinamore.

Give it to Jones and Shane Ward

haven't heard but be very unlikely that his red would be overturned, a strike to the back of an opponents head, Ain't no way the committee can be seeing to allow that. Id be surprised if Mary's appealed

Be interesting to see who comes on top on Saturday between Carrick and Ballinamore. I think I will cross the Shannon to take it in. I went to a semi final between the same teams a few years ago in Pairc Sean and Ballinamore blew Carrick away. From a distance, Ballinamore might have a lot of mileage on the clock with a lot of their key players in mid to late 30s- Wayne McKeon, Shane Moran, Liam Ferguson - all great warriors but coming to the end me thinks. Carrick on paper much younger and mobile but have had three difficult games in the group. Will be worth watching

B'more have definitely something to play for, the right results elsewhere could see them in a semi final spot... it's unlikely but not impossible. You obviously could say the same of St Mary's but I just have this feeling that B'more will take them. It's definitely the key game of the weekend.

Predictions for this weekend ;

Senior
Melvin Gaels v Fenagh
Scoring difference is so bad that this is almost a dead rubber game for the lads from Kinlogh. Fenagh needs the points to secure a semi-final spit.
Fenagh by 7

Glencar Manorhamilton v Leitrim Gaels
Manorhamilton has been excellent in the championship. Are the Leitrim Gaels' new signings worth the money. Questions will be answered after this game.
Manor by 2

Mohill v Aughawillian
The loser will become a Ballinamore supporter. Mohill should win here.
Mohill by 6

St Mary's v Ballinamore
Ballinamore has secured a quarter-final spot. Mary's are in big trouble, and only a win will avoid a shock relegation final.
I think I picked Mary's to win every week. Maybe I'm the curse? I'll do Mary's a favour!
Ballinamore by 1

Junior
Aughavas v Melvin B
Aughavas by 10

Aughnasheelin v Glenfarne
It's great to see Glenfarne fielding two teams in this years championship. Congratulations to all involved.
Home advantage will help.
Aughnasheelin by 3

Drumreilly v Annaduff B
Drumreilly by 12

Eslin v Mohill B
Depends who Mohill has available, but Eslin should shade it.

Honestly don't think I've seen as much interest in the SFC as this year. There are so many sub plots going into the last round of group games and so many people from outside the clubs involved talking about going to games and trying to decide which one to go to.

Hope the weather holds up for the pitches though. Not looking great.

Crossed the bridge to see Carrick v Ballinamore. Ballinamore very impressive and missed nothing. Carrick desperately poor . Way too lateral, too slow and no direct kick passing . Whereas Ballinamore were the complete opposite

Heavy defeat for Carrick, there now in a relegation play off, a disastrous championship for them. When was the last time they were not senior? Certainly been senior all my lifetime. Luckily for them they will survive relegation as Melvin Gaels are in worse shape than them.

Think they were intermediate around 90/91 maybe and if they play like they did tonight they'll be there next year. They just look like a team who haven't adjusted to new rules at all.

It'd be pretty wild if the team with the largest population in the county aren't in senior level in 2026.

Mad how a team goes from a league final to a relegation final in a matter of months. That's the beauty of this championship format. In fairness to Mary's they got all the tough games. I don't expect to see them relegated. I'd love to see a Leitrim Gaels Fenagh final and Leitrim Gaels win it. It would be great to see a new winner of the Fenagh Cup.

I called this earlier on during the week and posters who may aswell have st Mary's wrote on their forehead critiqued me . I'm sure all in pairc Tom are wondering what else could they have spent their 50k on because the line had no answers yesterday for an impressive ballinamore outfit . My new problem is who to support next week , hearing Melvin have lads just back from Australia , darragh Rooney is elegeible and reportedly has transfer papers submitted to croke park

Agree with all you said except I'd love Fenagh . Haven't won it since 1932 and lost a number of finals in the 90s and 00s narrowly particularly the 99 final with a last gasp Manor, they have a huge psychological barrier to jump in the semi finals though as they have fallen short in a good few semi finals in recent years and they need to win a championship sooner rather than later. Nothing against Leitrim Gaels a fine club who I think will win a championship if not this year in the next few. Ballinamore are strong contenders too coming good at the right time. Mohill can't be discounted but I think semi final is the best they will do this year , Manor and Willie's in bonus territory they just wouldn't have enough at the minute to win it out.

Pitty Mary's are in this situation, let's no forget they had a tough draw. They should walk Melvin

Just reading about the farce that happened in Kingspan Breffni today we shouldn't have the same issues seeing as Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada hasn't been in use so far this Year
