I'd be very cautious about this game as everyone expects Down to lose because they're on such a bad run. We tend to lose games we're supposed to win especially away from home and the recent publicity surrounding Down's problems will surely galvanise their squad and they're bound to come out fighting for this one so whilst I agree with the sentiments of you're argument I'd go with the best available 15 starting and if its going well take the lads who need a rest off

I would be very surprised if Andy takes any match for granted. He did all that can be reasonably expected by reducing the risk of injury against Derry ,by leaving Graham off. AFTER that important club game Andy will not give preferential treatment to Graham. Several good reasons why Graham should Play 1 He is a new captain ,and all that goes with that. 2. He is not overworked as a player so far this year for a man at the peak of his career.3 I note that as captain he seems to be trying to address his biggest weakness i. e. his tendency to go awol during some matches at critical times.4.Anything that can be interpeted as "MOLLYCODDLING" ? would be counter p-roductive for a player like Graham. We all know about his ability,but for me let him continue to build up the momentum and workrate,that for me became more obvious since becoming captain this year. No disrespect to Graham .I dont know the man. I suspect Graham and several other players on this team need consirable sharpening on the mental side of the game. Especially as captain exposure to,and appropriate action on the spot is invaluable ,and no competitive opportunity should be missed .Remember we only had 2 real games so far this year. Graham was missing for one of them. Royaldunne you have certaintly made it known your are a big fan of Graham,and equaly that you are a very strong Meath supporter. On this suggestion of yours maybe a bit of 'mature reflection" perhaps? Agree, we need to give Down the greatest respect. Last time out we beat one of the poorest teams to visit Navan in a long time. Win and we have a foot on the survival ladder and who knows after that.

Yep I agree I wouldn't change to much I would even like to see Downey start again. Hopefully he can improve from the last alot of others got a second chances against Derry. Joey was excellent the last day though. I would like see Joey Wallace, Ruairí Ó Coileáin, Bryan McMahon getting decent runs to see if they could kick on from there good showing against the last day.

You should get 2 points here but Down can play football they were good in the first half when we played them and they could of had 2 goals in after ten minutes only for some good saves from our keeper, against Clare they were poor in the first half but played all the football in the second half and should have got something out of the game.

Ahh the u21 defeat knocked the stuffing out of few of us. But I'll be heading up with confidence , I think the really annoying thing is we were looking to u21 to shore up a couple of places on senior and after last night I'm not so sure anymore but hopefully it was just a bad day at the office.

This can be a real banana skin for a team that appears mentally fragile. It seems we may have a degree of overconfidence judging by some posts here earlier. I dont understand the basis for that. In trying to build and improve mental toughness im sure Andy could not tolerate arrogance,or overconfidence. Down are hurting , and waiting for us. All hands on deck for maximum effort.

Yeah, 100% effort and concentration is required from the team tomorrow night. Down priced at 2/1 is big odds for a team at home against an inconsistent Meath team. The Meath team of the last 4 -5 years would lose this game, lets see if lessons have been learnt and improvements are being made early in Andy McEntees tenure. It's very strange, he's after playing 2 or 3 games for his club. Strong team otherwise and I could have no complaints about it other than Harnan not even on the bench.
