Can Mayo exorcise the ghost of '13?

Whatever about the curse of '51 the '13 final is the one that will haunt this Mayo team if they don't land the holy grail. Unfortunately for my county the form guide suggests a repeat of the '13 final. While Mayo will be written off in some quarters after an uninspiring run to the final, they have every chance of landing the big prize. I don't think mayo will have a hope if it's dublin in the final I had thought the qualifier route wpuld strengthen this mayo team but it's hard to see they appear disjointed and bit panicky when the pressure comes on Whatever chance they have against kerry cannot see them coming close to Dublin Other all Ireland champions through the back door kerry. Tyrone. Everyone thought we would run away with it too and look what happened.I'm putting my money on them to do it this year just because they are unpredictable and trying to predict an unpredictable team isn't possible. No this Mayo team missed their chance, if they ever had one, they are in this final because Tyrone for some reason misfired in the quarter final, bad mistakes from Mickey Harte on the line which was very unusual, if Sean Cavanagh hadn't been sent off Tyrone would have got the win or the draw and won any replay, that's my thinking anyway. I expect Dublin to beat Kerry but it will be tight enough, and the Dubs will steamroll Mayo, better be careful though O'Shea will have his diving togs on again on Sept 18th. No this Mayo team missed their chance, if they ever had one, Load of balls. They're in the final. At worst they're 3-1 vs Dublin, probably close to evens vs Kerry. If I were a Mayo fan I'd be pretty happy with those odds. They've one match to win, anything can happen on the day. Especially when they've been a top 3/4 team for the last 5 seasons. Mayo are in the top 3 teams on form and probably 3rd best at the moment but they are in the final again, so tough shit Paddy as Christy Moore would say. Who was the last Gaelic football team to lose 2 finals and then win 1 within 5 years? Alot of people overlook the mental aspect of this game, if you want proof of it look no further than Tyrone beating Kerry in 2008 Kerry should have won, they had more talent and the lead with 10 to go but Tyrone knew they could beat Kerry and they were the only team to do it at Croke Park in the championship...ignore it if you want but there couldn't be a more obvious example of having the mental hex over a team.
