faie enough! they are all teams at the top,but all im sayning is Naomh Ultan cant just pick what leauge they go into! its not the minors fault they are playning in divison 2! and on the comment about going into division 1,Naomh ultan wouldnt win it,they would be nowere near it but they would most certinaly not be pussed about!!
Bundoran? on the way up ? u obviously didnt hear about there under 16 and minor games??

anfearmor i think that is exactly why a team like milford are moving in the right direction because the underage teams before the current crop of u16s were not good and the u16s are up there with the best in the county.
That is progress!

Bundoran minor would destory downings minor ths year. And we beat killybegs in the reginal final this year and did'nt even play well. And the i was at the killybegs vs euan's game last saturday and killybegs were a disgrace the played well for the first 15 mins and then stopped playin altogether, although i thought louis mc nern sending off was a bit harsh. 2006 was 2006 this is 2008.

I think like the rest of Killybegs your living in the past too much (this thread quite clearly refers to this years underage teams). There's no need for it just because your future looks so bleak. How did yous do last saturday oh thats right beaten by EIGHTEEN points... marvellous stuff...

st eunans and st michaels county final should be great final. football at minor level in the south of the county has been poor this year.
good players in the both teams for the final but watch out for number 5 for st micheals, hes a dirty player.

Has to be Milford under 16s. To beat St Eunans in final deserves club Award of year, but they wont get it still considered a soccer town, wont get ant support from county Board

Naomh Ultan would not stand a chance in division 1!! They played 13 a side in there matches because they didnt have a good enough squad. St.Eunans and St.Micheals would hammer them. And I dont understand why Milford would get club of the year if St.Eunans senior, reserve, u12s won the county. the u-16s and 14s made it to the final and the minors,u21s and juniors are in the county final

hold on one second, no one on here argued abotu St. Eunans not being club of the year the fact is simply being discussed about which underage team is beat ibn my opinion it hink there are 3 teams in contention. Cloughaneely U14 Milford U16 and St Eunans Minor all Div 1 side who contested every final the could possibly play in, no will argue with this?? the fact of the matter is in my opinion a team should be playing div 1 football to be considered for this the title of best underage team, i dont think anyone can argue with that either?? congrats to N. Ultan but you are not operating at a high enuf level to be considered for this. I think its should be a split between the 3 teams mentioned as there is nothing to choose between them.

where is the minor final on this weekend??

To be honest 'ayeboy' Eunans and Michaels would hammer most most sides in the county. Just look at the championship semi final results - Michaels 2-16 Bundoran 0-8, Eunans 5-15 Killybegs 0-5. But outside of that Naomh Ultan would give most of the Div 1 teams a good game and beat a lot of them. They beat Ardara earlier in the year and lost to Killybegs by a point missing their two midfielders and CHF. And the reason they play 13 a side is because of the limited numbers and only that.

This young team deserves credit - going the year unbeaten and winning everything in front of them. How many teams in the county can say that?

Finally, on the Final itself it was a great spectacle with two teams solely intend on playing football and credit to Letterkenny Gaels who gave it their all. Its a pity there had to be a loser.

ayeboy - They had EIGHTEEN players this season but not always on matchdays hence the reason they had to play 13 a side. I think this makes their achievement all the more remarkable.

Was up at the minor final, and have to say it was a great 'footballing' game, real end to end stuff, with naomh ultan running out winners in the end. Not to take away from their victory ( as they just deservered it in the end, and have had a great season ), but just wondered what the score would have been if the game had been 15-a-side.

what the hell is remarkable about it???
downings done the same thing last year at minor level but u did'nt c us on here talking about it.
we had 18 players the day of the final + still played 15 a side.
we played 16 games all year + lost 1 away 2 macumhaills when we had just 15 players- no subs + played 15 a side.
we even played 2 games where we only had 13 players + the other 2 teams played the whole 2nd half with 15 + we still won....
a fair achievement 4 u's 2 win all the competitions- but where were u's at u.16 level??? kilcar beat (hammered) u's 2 years ago in the county final !!!
