Aidan O'Shea Diving

There we go...

Stephen Rochford: ... "If that's what people's assertions are (That AOS dived) then its the first time ive seen AOS going to ground and usually he has the help of 3 or 4 defenders to help him, so, if he's got a little bit of a break its not before time"...

Silly carry on. Every incident should be judged on its own merits. Just because he may have been denied a free a couple of times or a penalty in other games does not justify him actually being awarded a soft one like in this instance.

Replying To Frederick:  "Terrible thread

It wasn't a penalty,

There was a coming together and he went down as legs were tangled.
But it wasn't a dive!

On the other hand, why the gaa do not have video technology is an absolute disgrace."
What game were you watching? Aidan O Shea was shot by a sniper

No contact , no leg tangle

Yeah exactly .

Mayo play the poor man sometimes but they're antics as bad as any other side.

Fair play to Jarlath Burns on calling O shea out.
If only more pundits and interviewers were willing to do it.

He went down under the lightest contact, which is disappointing. But then there isnt a team in the country that hasnt had a player do likewise so i dont buy into the blame game.

As for fermanagh, hard luck, but id point to the clear penalty turned down for the crazy tackle on oconnor, and the push in keane's back for the fermanagh goal. You cant have it every way

He has a long history of this unfortunately. I remember a few years ago when niall Morgan shoulder him and he went down holding his face as if he had been struck. Used to like this mayo team but they are getting harder to like.

Now for all the mayo fans who called out mccann to come out and say the same about o'shea.

What a joke some of you are Some Dublin fans on here you'd swear they were nuns Every county has players that go down easy If you were to look at a player that gets mugged every game without getting the frees that he deserves you'd be looking at AOS How many times was he mugged in the game and got nothing And fans of Ulster counties need to pipe down another group that thinks they have nuns playing for them

Pete mc Grath shown the penalty on rte interview and is adamant it was a dive. Its about time there was a mechanism introduced to sort out this nonsense.

I think oshea was being 'choked' before that, therefore all reaction is completely justified and he shoulders no blame, right?

Less of the double standards

TheMaster.... You are a gas man. I'll give you one thing, you support your team no matter what.

But you can't defend O'Shea there. Just give over. And O'Connors was a 50/50 call......he ducked his head and charged. The defender probably fouled. But as I said, charging/fouling......50/50.

Why do i get the feeling that some of those criticizing O Shea today are the same ones probably defending the awful tiernan McCaan after his antics last year, whinging about an anti Ulster agenda or something of that kind?
No room for hypocrisy or tribalism when it comes to this issue.
Cheaters are scum and have no place in the GAA, whatever colors are on their jersey.

Absolute rubbish. Can you show me the defence of Tiernan McCann by Tyrone or other GAA folk? People acknowledged that MCCann's actions were completely indefensible but they took exception to the manner in which he was treated in the aftermath. Pundits and other idiots creating new sanctions and asking for apologies, it was ridiculous. Aidan O'Shea has form for this sort of thing and he has cheated Fermanagh out of a huge win but it will blow over in a couple of days unlike the McCann Incident.

Someone sounds slightly defensive. Hit a nerve?

He could take Conor McManus with him lol. Great players both but they both like to dive when minimal contact is made close to goal, Maurice Deegan called on McManus to get up on a couple of occasions last week in Brefini. Lots more doing it also, the game today is win at all cost, it'll work some times others times it won't, you can't blame players for taking any and all advantages that comes their way. Move on nothing more to see here.

+1

Aidan clearly did dive on that occasion, so I'd have to condemn him in this instance. But the circle jerk going on from posters from some counties who have gotten up to far worse (biting, gouging, spitting at players, fish hooking etc.) is fairly laughable tbh.

Totally agree, and hopefully the Tyrone fans who defended McCaan en masse will now understand how wrong his behaviour was.

Fermanagh were poor in the second half and Mayo could have won even without the penalty but it was definitely a huge call and had a big impact on the game. Absolute pathetic stuff from O'Shea and an awful decision from the ref.

O 'Sea got scrabble frees in the first half by diving. On one occasion he tried to dive into the penalty area for a penalty. His neck tackle which brought Corrigan to the ground should have brought a black card
