Cork v Tipp....Football! A shock or was it coming?

Replying To Muilleann:  "Well Deccie Browne wrote about this in the Cork Examiner a week or so ago.

And got a "belt" then off "Westside" in the Clonmel Nationalist for pointing out the hypocrisy of Cahill & Co. for it.

Some people in Tipp have such narrow little minds, and they're usually hurling people."
I'm looking forward to Deccie's take on yesterday's game, his articles have been good so far.

Its a disgrace that the county chairman would interfere with a democratically voted decision.

Liam Cahill seems to blame everything except himself for not winning a minor championship. He had a very talented minor panel in 2014 and did nothing with them.

Replying To cuederocket:  "Cork lost to Kildare the week after losing the munster final replay (if i remember correctly). The success rate for all beaten provincial final teams with a one week turn around is very low. Also,Kildare didn't lose six of their best footballers over a 12 month period. Also,Kildare have beaten many big teams down through the years, reaching the 2010 All Ire final.Tipp have waite 72 years to beat ye and did it with a seriously weakened team."
What big teams have Kildare beaten in the last 6 years??

Willie Maher, another Ballingarry man,did the very same a couple of years ago when it was very clearly a sideline muck up when Tipp lost minor hurling to Limerick and nothing to do with dual players.

I didnt put a time frame of six years on it.I said down through the years.Kildare were a top team in the 90s.My point was/is naming Kildare is not a good comparison with Tipp. It's been donkeys years since Tipp beat Kerry or Cork in Munster. They won their last Munster in the '30s .Kildare won a couple of Leinsters in the 90s,got to an All Ire final in '98 & All Ire semi final in '10.They haven't been great in last few years but in my opinion it is a poor comparison.

Cork have been poor and I have been absolutely stunned how some were even this year doing the auld dark horses could surprise lark , they are absolutely in transition and miles off the top teams, Did I see it coming ? well I didn't predict it but I told my son if they ever were going to beat Cork it was this week , a similar statement I made about our hurlers v KK.
A lot of serious players over the last few years have retired and its really hitting hard now. Also feel Cork don't know what style of play suits them and as a result are committed to nothing.

What about Tipp losing six of their best players over the last year Damo, including probably their best footballer to Aussie Rules?Do posters think a county like Tipp can afford to lose this huge volume of players and continue to make progress?

while the munster football finalists are "seeded" to get through to the semifinals the following year they can be drawn to meet each other..
