How do Mayo Season Ticket Holders feel about this? Not sure how many would actually travel to London for this game so might not be too much of an issue. CroiGorm (Dublin) - Posts: 1547 - 24/03/2016 12:10:58 1837283 Link 0 |
Money is going to London GAA so far enough. We need to wake up and smell the flowers sometimes, GAA is massive value ticket price wise compared to the equivalent rugby or soccer matches in Ireland witnof (Dublin) - Posts: 1604 - 24/03/2016 12:49:40 1837305 Link 0 |
London need the money so no big deal. But objectively speaking, it is a strange one. Can mayo in turn decide not to honour say the Dublin season tickets for a league game in McHale park? After all, we don't get many championship games there ourselves some years - which is the basis for the London argument. Id say london get as many games at home, when you consider the qualifiers, as many counties do. It probably isn't really fair when you think of it like that. But, I don't think any mayo fan will hold it against them. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 24/03/2016 13:03:19 1837315 Link 0 |
I have no problem with it. It was the same when we were last in New York. A few thousand Mayo fans are heading over..should be a great weekend. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11550 - 24/03/2016 13:10:15 1837318 Link 0 |
I think this is an absolute disgrace. The GAA should reimburse London GAA if its a gate receipt issue. HenryHill16 (Dublin) - Posts: 249 - 24/03/2016 14:08:18 1837345 Link 0 |
Great pint of Fosters in the Bar Downstairs in Ruislip ..worth the Admission fee alone!! hurler32 (Limerick) - Posts: 870 - 24/03/2016 14:32:20 1837353 Link 0 |
Well HenryHill, it is like this, we are all part of the gaa, all members of the same club. So if on occasion our group have to forego something to which we are entitled - to help another group who are struggling and probably need it more, then fair enough. Every gaa person should be willing to do that. The same way other counties were willing to turn a blind eye to special treatment when the gaa were trying to develop the gaa in your own county. There is a bigger picture at play here, you cant only consider what the gaa can do for you, if everyone acts like that, the gaa dies a death. I queried this by email with season ticket office in Croke Park at the start of the month and their response was : saddam (Mayo) - Posts: 414 - 24/03/2016 14:49:51 1837367 Link 0 |
Speaking as someone involved in GAA in London I actually agree that the Season tickets system should be honoured. The problem would be how you would reimburse London. I don't have a season ticket, as I live in London. Is there a way of tracking how many season ticket holders have entered the ground? This ain't about Dublin, please someone tell the Mayo lad . AthCliath (Dublin) - Posts: 4347 - 24/03/2016 16:50:09 1837411 Link 0 |
I don't think the issue is the cost of having to pay for a ticket. I think if anyone were to have an issue with it it'd be the fact attending this game doesn't count in your attendance %. Say Mayo get to the AI Final and some season ticket holders that have attended this game turn out to be one game shy of the 60% required. I can understand that concern CroiGorm but surely it could be easily solved by any Mayo supporter at Ruislip on the day retaining his/her ticket stub and presenting it when the ballot for a potential AI final takes place? MedwayIrish (Wexford) - Posts: 2324 - 24/03/2016 17:12:42 1837424 Link 0 |

There is no such thing as a great pint of Fosters! MedwayIrish (Wexford) - Posts: 2324 - 24/03/2016 17:32:23 1837434 Link 0 |
If the Gaa do something to honour the attendance of those that went to the game then I'm ure there'd be no issue. Either reduce the amount of games attended/% required to guarantee an All Ireland Final ticket or allow season ticket holders to produce the stub as your suggestion (if they get to the final). If the game isn't under the season ticket scheme. Then this game won't be considered when attendance percentage is being calculated. AthCliath (Dublin) - Posts: 4347 - 24/03/2016 17:50:26 1837443 Link 0 |
For any Mayo fans planning on going to the game in Ruislip, that don't yet have a ticket you might want to have a read of this.... CroiGorm (Dublin) - Posts: 1547 - 06/04/2016 14:25:20 1842622 Link 0 |
