If someone bends my fingers back during a football game they are going to get busted in the face....red card or not

What is the kerry man expected to do.ask nicely and hope for the best. We are gone to pc.I hope he doesn't get a sanction

Totally agree. I hoped the card is rescinded. It was a cowardly act and the player had to defend himself.

100% agree McGee can have no complaints and the red card should be rescinded.

You could have scripted most of the replies on here. Posters from outside Ulster will ALWAYS back Kerry or Dublin against Ulster teams irrespective of the antics of these teams. They will ALWAYS be excused their on field behaviour and tactics so long as the Ulster side is beaten. Kerry have moved brutal cynicism and the dark arts on to a new plain and it's up to others to respond now in kind.

Just watching the highlights here as was at games all afternoon.

There really are two rules in gaelic football:

One rule for everyone and a special set for Kerry and Dublin.

This was one very negative game... from both sides.... how Aidan O'Mahoney stayed on the pitch -I don't know.... how many times did he strike an opponent!!!

Think kerry went into that game to unsettle donegal riled up mcgee and Murphy was Def targeted from the start ... donegal got dragged into a fight n took their eye off the game which all suited kerry... If they went toe to toe with donegal from the start there'd only have been 1 outcome imo .

Ah yes was wondering how long it would take somebody to bring Dublin into it!

Just watched highlights again on RTE after watching the game live earlier. Seems like certain Kerry players are immune from sanction by referees. How both Aidan O'Mahoney and Kieran Donaghy stayed on the pitch is beyond me! Kerry set out to intimidate Donegal from the throw in today and unfortunately with a vociferous home support behind them, Donegal didn't get protection from a referee who lost control early on!

Neil mc gee: 2 game ban. No defence
Kieran donaghy: 2 game ban. Threw a man to the ground by the neck. No regards for a players safety
Alan Fitzgerald: 2 game ban. Fair enough he was provoked. One punch to get free, but 3 it way too many. Showed he just wanted to hurt his man after breaking free.
The behaviour of Aidan o Mahoney has to be looked at.
Also to all the posters defending Fitzgerald, this was the extreme side of holding a player but if we all start turning round breaking noses because we feel provoked then we may as well turn the gaa into the ufc.

Mate we play with a man down every single game and the free count is always against us so I'd love to know these rules that go in our favour???

terrible game. Donegal brought Kerry down to their level. These Donegal antics need to be stopped but Refs don't seem too botheredwhich results in opposing teams having to take the law in to their own hands. disgusting behaviour this year by the Donegal team. They have sunk to a new low.

With kerry it doesn't seem to be orchestrated They just have a few clowns on their team who have been getting away with it for years (we all know who they are). The difference with Donegal is that it is part of the game plan. The standard of refeering in this country is truly shocking too. All in all it makes for a toxic mix.

Looking at it again Fitzgerald was provoked in an ugly fashion..... still threw a punch, but in fairness i don't think speaking nicely would have worked....
As regards Donaghy and O'Mahony this unsporting gloating of players is awful

I agree with this post 100%. Kerry went out with the objective of not allowing Donegal play their new brand of running football & they succeeded.

What disappoints me is that Donegal allowed Kerry get under their skin & their performance suffered as a result.

We have to be better than this because other teams will have noted that it is easy to knock Donegal out of their stride & it will be a long summer if we don't get our discipline back.

Steady on Clondalkin. Are you 100% sure the free count is always against you? Any evidence to back this up? Dublin are the all Ireland champs.....people are going to take digs at you on forums.

I feel there is a difference in the handbags(because that's mostly what it was) that Sheenan/Kavanagh Donaghy/ Muraphy got involved in and a sneaky dangerous attack that McGee did....as I've said earlier I like McGee.....hard player but that was cowardly. unfortunely Alan Fitz will get suspended because u can't retaliate.
