Think it's Barnabas v Monaghan and cork v Kerry Crossgaa (Mayo) - Posts: 553 - 28/03/2016 19:20:00 1838550 Link 0 |
its monaghan and Donegal and cork and Kerry. Barnabas do not play as they do not have any new players who need a championship game before new York gets their annual thumping. bleedfootball (USA) - Posts: 139 - 28/03/2016 20:11:20 1838569 Link 0 |

Any predictions for the first few matches ? Gerrard1888 (Laois) - Posts: 34 - 01/04/2016 18:49:57 1840324 Link 0 |
Is this correct. I just spoke to a Monaghan player and he told me they were playing Cork and that Kerry were playing Donegal. So should we just guess what games are on. What happened the website that all the games and results were on? It seems to have disappeared. GPlifer (USA) - Posts: 290 - 01/04/2016 20:09:17 1840367 Link 0 |

Expect Brooklyn to make a winning start in their new surroundings of Intermediate and I think Monaghan and Donegal will be a step ahead of the others at this stage in Senior. Patsy1916 (USA) - Posts: 136 - 04/04/2016 14:24:10 1841578 Link 0 |
how will Westmeath and Longord FAIR OUT IN INTERMEDIATE newyorklad (USA) - Posts: 111 - 04/04/2016 19:48:48 1841787 Link 0 |
My picks are as follows; Crossgaa (Mayo) - Posts: 553 - 05/04/2016 13:52:48 1842102 Link 0 |
Both longford and westmeath will be very strong. Longford have another lad out from home who started for the county team at home over the past few years and with Jamie Clarke soon to arrive along with their usual summer sanction off Brian Kavanagh I can see now why the county board wanted them to go senior. They also picked up a couple of the cavan senior lads. Westmeath also have jason kelly drafting to them and have some of the westmeath lads that were playing for other clubs back with them so they will be strong also. Don't think it will be even interesting in senior. Might as well play final now between Donegal and Monaghan. Cant see Barnabas being competitive and when Cork and Kerry may provide token opposition that's all it will be. Will be very curious to see what Kerry have especially after all the drama in the off season. GPlifer (USA) - Posts: 290 - 05/04/2016 15:46:09 1842192 Link 0 |
INTERMEDIATE WILL BE A FANTASTIC DIVISION AND BE VERY HARD TO WIN IT newyorklad (USA) - Posts: 111 - 05/04/2016 16:26:46 1842212 Link 0 |
Absolutely whoever wins Intermediate this year will have earned it. I believe the top 2 go directly into the semi final and next 4 playoff. I would make Longford the early favorites based on the fact they will have 6 county standard forwards. I will make Sligo second favorites as they have been building for the past few years and I think they have a few new sligo lads in town. Rockland I would place third once again they have been trying to make that breakthrough for a number of years now and I think they are making a big push this year after their Junior team won the B championship last year. Cavan I would place next as they went unbeaten last year in intermediate before a shock defeat in the semi final, their senior club has folded so I would imagine although most of their senior guys left the club i think their intermediates can only be stronger with 4 or 5 lads coming down from senior. After a fantastic year last year I will put Brooklyn into the playoffs aswell as they have really reinvented the club over the past few years and will only get stronger as the summer progresses and wont be too far away at the business end could even see them getting to a final again or semi final at a minimum. Westmeath have a lot off talent on their squad now between the club to club transfers and drafts they got so it is hard to see them not make the playoffs unless the wheels come of their bus like which is capable of happening. Kerry you just never know with but they did get to the final last year but I think the entire Kerry club may have went back a little over the last 6 months so for that reason I will exclude them from the playoff picture. Rangers again have been there or there abouts for the past number of years and who knows how they will perform this year. Mayo and Tyrone I think might struggle again this year as I dont see them adding to their squads from last year and may struggle unless they bring in big sanctions or intercounties later in the year. Patsy, good overview of intermediate there. And I know we have been through this but the way you talk of Longford and even Sligo/cavan, why the hell do we have top quality teams in a 10 team intermediate division and 5 teams in senior? It's a joke. By the talk of Longford, and 6 inter county forwards, surely they could mix it with Donegal and monaghan? NYCcavanman (USA) - Posts: 204 - 05/04/2016 19:13:45 1842287 Link 0 |
They could surely mix it but sure all these ideas were put forwarded and rejected. Longford and I believe were asked to go senior but said that they did not want too and they couldnt be forced I guess. This lead to the idea off a total restructure where senior and intermediate would effectively become one but this was rejected unanimously by the clubs. The county board knew I guess that Longford and westmeath would be much too strong for Junior A so decided to let them go intermediate. I believe what needs to happen now is for two teams to get promoted from intermediate and the bottom team in Senior given the choice to stay up at least next year there will be 6 or 7 teams in senior. We need croke park to take control of NY GAA before it completely collapsed . Not much future for the 1000 of kids coming up standman99 (Offaly) - Posts: 72 - 06/04/2016 11:18:21 1842483 Link 0 |
Croke Park doesn't care what goes on in NY if the truth be told. How many conflicts were there and when Croke Park were asked to step in and help, Their simple response was :sort it out Yourselves. ranger (None) - Posts: 166 - 06/04/2016 18:17:27 1842774 Link 0 |
