A lease with the MTA has not been signed yet. Neither has the MTA and Manhattan signed a lease. Ask any of your officers. Gaa Fan (USA) - Posts: 763 - 08/11/2016 14:44:59 1932737 Link 0 |

I see that there is one meaningful competition for two positions that of Delegates to Congress. Do the delegates to congress from the NY Board still pay their own way as they did in years past?

Donegal, monaghan, cavan, barnabas, cork, Kerry, Kerry, Westmeath, longford, rockland, tyrone, brooklin, rangers, mayo its a lot of teams but will be two cups I'm told. I'd say longford will be one of the top teams at the and. Crossgaa (Mayo) - Posts: 553 - 09/02/2017 19:56:05 1954150 Link 0 |

It looks a bit stupid nut in the long term it could make sense as it will hopefully even out teams after a couple of years. I would have thought the weaker intermediate teams would be better in junior though - Tyrone, Rangers. can't see them competing at all NYCcavanman (USA) - Posts: 204 - 10/02/2017 14:16:42 1954394 Link 0 |
Checking the 2016 team standings the newly promoted teams will not give decent challenge games to the top three or four teams from 2016. To call these senior games is false advertising and the paying public will cop this very early. Each of the top three clubs will be able to enlarge their squads by twenty players as they did in 2016......eleven or twelve for their seniors and the same amount for their junior teams. Surprised at the gullibility of the majority of the clubs in that they do not cut the inter county transfers to four. Only the top three can afford four inter county and four sanctions anyway.

Why would NYGAA promote such an idea? Half of the clubs in intermediate barely belong in intermediate, to promote them to senior would be a death sentence for these clubs. There's maybe 2 or 3 clubs that could possibly hold their own in senior the rest won't stand a chance. In addition, wouldn't a lot of players on intermediate squads transfer to senior clubs? Just does not make sense why the NYGAA would promote this idea. A lot of this clubs could end up folding with players losing interest and getting disheartened from being hockeyed around. Westmeath, Mayo, Sligo, Rockland, Brooklyn would have a legitimate shot at winning intermediate division as is, can't say the same if they get bumped up to seniors. And as for Kerry how would they figure that one out? Would there be a Kerry A and a Kerry B, and for the same club that trains together to play against each other? Word in the street the weekend is screw the senior division because they over spent and save intermediate division the most competitive division of all. But something must happen in senior. 4 or 5 teams!!!

Coudn't agree more intermediate division is most interesting division NYGAA has. Why not just promote Cavan to Senior make it an even 6 teams? If there is further interest promote the intermediate finalists from last year? The damage these clubs have done to NYGAA can be fixed but it will take some time. There is plenty of talent in intermediate division where some of these teams can compete in seniors given proper time to develop. No sense destroying a good division. Yeah, great to see Dowd back involved. Hear Connie Molloy will be assisting him. These 2 were a successful partnership in Donegal a few years ago. He will bring through young footballers and give them a chance.
