According to reports the Donegal Club are considering objecting to a player who played with Monaghan all season. Reports also that the Donegal Club is being urged to do so by non-club members with axes to grind. Experience shows that the players who were on the losing team finds this to be distasteful and will not change the final score or their failure to play up to their potential on the day. So the money man ( child ) throws his toys out of the pram. Funny, this week never saw any picture of scoreboard posted anywhere or does that only happen when winning games by 30 points??? Just curious...... GPlifer (USA) - Posts: 290 - 13/09/2016 21:04:57 1913925 Link 0 |
I think most neutral GAA people in NY are delighted to see Donegal get beat, not that Monaghan have behaved much better. but I have noticed these social media posts and other displays of 'Look at me and the money I am throwing around' and I am quite happy to see the egg on the face now. I hear that Donegal objected to the awarding of the senior football final and trophy to Monaghan. Does anyone know the basis for the objection? Gaa Fan (USA) - Posts: 763 - 23/09/2016 18:58:20 1918520 Link 0 |
Yes there are genuine questions being asked and for some reason they are not being posted. I cannot understand it either.. Wayovertheline (Kerry) - Posts: 58 - 27/09/2016 13:46:12 1919635 Link 0 |
I think people would love to see the questions. Let's have em! kilflynn (Kerry) - Posts: 66 - 27/09/2016 20:47:12 1919898 Link 0 |
I have posted twice but has not been put up. Donegal have objected to Monaghan player who played every game for Monaghan all year, went home and played for his club and came back to play for Monaghan in final without weekend sanction. Player was perfectly eligible for a sanction. Cheap objection at best. GPlifer (USA) - Posts: 290 - 27/09/2016 21:55:25 1919918 Link 0 |
There not posting for some reason. Think we all know who got to them. Dinegal have every right to object. Do you think Monaghan would not have done the same thing??

The final in New York was played on Sept. 11. The objection was filed on Sept. 14 (?). Nobody but the secretary and the Donegal club knew of the objection until Sept. 22. Has the objection not been heard yet? Does the CCC hope that it will go away? What excuses are being presented now for not hearing it? The time period allowed, by rule, for hearing it has elapsed.

It has gone to Croke park i believe newyorklad (USA) - Posts: 111 - 05/10/2016 16:02:52 1922917 Link 0 |
That is not my understanding of how the objection process works. Each county board handles their own objections (CCC), appeals (Hearings Committee), and further appeals to the (Appeals Committee), for a final resolution. If further action is taken it goes to the Provincial Council (Connacht). My understanding is that the CCC did not meet yet so who authorized/instructed that any communication be sent to any county board, provincial council, or Croke Park. No person (secretary) can officially communicate unless directed to do so by the appropriate authority.

New Complex will NEVER start, The Senior Board are not been up front on this. Lets face it since 2010 each year the people are told it will start after the Connaught Championship game in May. Its 2016 and no word about it.

I was in New York this weekend for a very special birthday party for an outstanding GAA man. Found all this info readily available when I asked a former Board Chairman. Nothing can take place until both Manhattan College and The New York GAA have signed leases which they do not have yet. The hold-up is the location of the property boundary lines. Three prints each show different locations. Furthermore the MTA Committee only meets monthly so the process is at a snail's pace. It cannot be rushed and Gaelic Park is not high on the MTA's list of priorities.

If this Former Officer was so informative, Why was he telling everyone five Years ago that the Job was starting in a matter of weeks?
